I just recieved my medical records from the hospital - my mother's age, her blood type, and information regarding my birth, etc. The ID info has been removed, but there is a social security number that has only been removed twice and remains above my birth date on the photocopy of my hospital bracelet. Could this be my birthmother's social security number? I have contacted a lawyer and I am trying to figure out whether or not this is in fact her social security number, and if I can locate her with it. I also have a fingerprint. Can anyone else help??

How did you go about obtaining your birth records?

This is how I got them...
I sent a letter of request to the hospital where I was born and included my social security #. In this particular case, the letter didn't need to be notarized. My information (with the non-ID info. removed) was mailed to me within two weeks.

Important question
Yes that would be your moms SS# and her finger print.
You can also go to http://www.searchbug.com/peoplefinder/ssn.aspx and other sites and type in the SS# and give your email address and they will let you know if the SS# is active, where it was issued and also links to finding address and such. Good luck
