Hi

Hi, I would be happy to try and help you if I can. I have been looking for my husband's birth parents. He is 40 was born in NC. We found his birht mother last month, saddly she passed away in 1997. But I am here even if you just want someone to talk to. I understand how the sealed records can make you feel like you are banging against a brick wall.

What state were you adopted? Do you have your birthname? Many states keep the adoption records at the court house. HOw much information did you give the searcher. I live in Virginia and was adopted in New York. I used old phone books, I found at the Library of Congress and tracked the family from the time I was born to the most recent address. Then I used a net detective program that listed several people with the same last name. I wrote them all letters asking if they were familiar with the family I was searching. My search paid off, I found my birthmother's brother.

Help you search!!!

What information do you have? I can possibly give you some ideas. Just give me what info you have and I will tell you what to do next to possibly find some info. I searched for several years; but finally found my brother and two sisters. I also found out about a couple of deceased siblings. I still have two sisters to locate that I know about so far. Both of my birth parents were deceased when I located them.
Looking forward to helping you if I can.

Bob

Have your registered on reunionregistry.com? I am a birth mom who has registered at more places than I can remember. Recently I submitted an article to Adoption Week magazine. I got a response from a woman who has been looking for her b-parents for many years. She referrred me to this particular site and within 48 hrs of my inquiry I have been reunited with my daughter. Sometimes it is in persistance and the help of an unsuspecting angel like my new friend, Neysa, that you find what you are looking for. I am still in emotional shock but my daughter, Melissa and I have connected and when the time is right we will meet with open arms. She and my other daughter have already spent hours on the phone bonding and it's only been a couple of days!!!! Try every site you can and avoid paying anyone anything until you have exhausted every state, internet and agency freebie registry you can. Perhaps writing an article about your experience and search could spark someone's memory or someone may respond with their own suggestions or encouragement. Take a break - maybe - but never quit, honey - that's the easy way out and you don't get any answers that way.

Yes, Adoption Week e-mag. There is another website - free search angels you can go to - www.freewebs.com/adopteesearching/index.htm. Neysa and her angels are diligent and because of their own experiences, know places to look that the beginners in searching may not know about. They also have a bazillion other sources to refer you to. Patience and faith are crucial in these searches. Be prepared for what you might find.........have you prepared others in your life for what you might find? (Such as spouse, parents, siblings, childrend, etc.) What is your plan once a reunion is made? Sounds silly but you need to have one because you are truly reeling physically and emotionally and will not think clearly. Know what you expect from whoever you search for and prepare for them not to want to be found or their need to prepare themselves and/or the others in their life for being found.
I hope I'm making sense.

Good luck!!

Thank you for all the help.
Yes I have talked with my husband and also my other daughter about this and they are behind me completely and my husband is helping me all he can.
Even if my precious daughter doesn't want to see me I want her to at least know she has a little sister and also had a brother (he was killed in 2002) and also about the medical problems of the family. I have desieases that she is very high risk for as well as any grandchildren.
I love her deeply and want her to know I do love her and always have.

You wrote that you wanted to find your birth parents...try joining a search group in your area or call to find one in the area you were adopted. Sometimes they have connections w/ people who work in records..I found my birth parents that way.

I am searching for a child born October or November of 1974/73.
I believe the correct date would be 11/18/74 or 73 or close to it.
Place of birth: Ruston, Louisiana
Adoption would have most likely taken place shortly after birth.
