Something that I felt that all parents of older children should know about... I hope I don't get in trouble for posting this... Please all of you that read this if you know anyone that has teenage children print this and pass it on, or Please copy and paste this and e-mail it to everyone in your address book...
We as parents need to do everything possible to educate ourselves as to what is going on in our childrens day to day lives...

I just recently saw this on a tv show.. .. maybe Law and ORder or CSI? a boy raped a girl because she had been wearing one of the bracelets and he took it to mean that she would "put out" with anyone.... very scary!!

I've seen this in our area and the really sad thing is that grade school children think they are cool and want them too. They have no idea what it means but just see the older kids wearing them makes them want one too. Egads!

I can only hope parents who see these on their kids sit down and talk with them and educate them.

Along with these bracelets is the rising of "sex parties". Kids get together at an unsupervised home and have these parties. Where are the parents?????? It's just unacceptable.

I know it is terrible... It discuss me sometime as to what out children are subjected to these days....

My six year old first grader wears these bracelets 24 hours a day! I know she has no idea what the "meaning" of them are. I don't understand who thinks of these things. In jr. high I was still playing Barbie's with my little sister!

OMG...thank you so much for your informative post. I am shocked to say the least and not only that I am the mother of a 12 year old daughter who wears these bracelets daily changing the color to match her outfit. I know she is simply following the current fashion trend, she is also still playing with Barbie dolls; but to think she could be placed in harms way just because she is wearing a bracelet is outrageous.
I try and be so careful, she isn't even allowed to watch MTV or listen to suggestive lyrics, she's still in ponytails and braces. I am horrified and I am sending it to everybody. Tara

Well I don't have a daughter... I have boys, and to tell you the truth we live in a small town of less than 20,000 people... And I didn't think that it was going on here at our school... But I went ahead and approached my boys about it.. I didn't even get it out of my mouth and my 10 year olds says you mean sex bracelets.. OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I could not believe my ears...
And to think a lady on the group that I got this info from, came on there to voice her opinon, that she thought that we were extremely over reacting and that we needed to quit spreading internet rumors.... That all of this came from the show Judging Amy... I didn't see that episode... But I talk to someone else and they said yes there was an episode with that thream... I think a girl got raped because she was wearing them, with out knowing the meaning of them...
Anyway I don't believe that it is internet rumors, when I know that it is going on at our middle school right here in my own back yard... And if it is going on here, I know it is going on it bigger schools...
So lets get the WORD out there to all the parents that we know, because almost all of us know someone that has a child that is of school age....

Thanks for the informative post! My 11 yr old just started Middle School. I just asked him about them. All he knows is that they are sex bracelets. If someone rips it off the girls arm....then he wants to have sex with her. He does not know about colors or meanings.
