More Information than on Referral
Has anyone requested more information than was given on a referral before traveling? How long did it take to receive this information? We have been waiting 3 weeks. Rep was on vacation until early last week. Just curious.

We did and the turn around time was just a couple days. For us it seemed like was a normal thing with our agency to ask for follow up questions. Not everything was answered but the most important ones were. I would guess each agency/orphanage are different.

We requested more information but we didnt get any. I dont know if it was on the part of the orphanage or the agency. We ended up turning down the referral due to lack of information we needed to make a sound decision.
Hang in there, Im sure it's hard. At least it sounds like you will get the information you need. Amy K, NJ

On one referral we received a little bit of info in a few days. For a another referral they never came back with anything. Guess it can go either way.

9/3/08 Signed w/agency 9/8/08 Sent I600A form w/out Homestudy 9/20/08 Homestudy started 9/22/08 Mailed fingerprints to FBI 10/2/08 FBI OK'd us 10/15/08 Biometrics done for I600A 11/24/08 Homestudy mailed to complete I600A 12/15/08 Dossier to Russia 1/20/09 I171H received 4/9/09 Received 2 refferals! Boy and Girl! 4/15/09 Now have 1 of 2 referrals. 4/21/09 Received 2nd referral! 4/28/09 Accepted 2nd referral and waiting on 1st trip! 5/11/09 Child #2 is no longer available, back to waiting for another referral. 6/15/09 Dossier done. Now holding off on Child #2. 6/17/09 Travel dates for #1! 6/27/09-7/4/09 Trip #1 completed 11/15/09 Re-did fingerprints (expired) 12/4/09 New set of docs sent to Russia. 1/12/10 Fingerprints re-ok'd. 2/19/10 Russia for 2nd Dr's exams

we did and it was like 48 hours. We were not able to get all we requested but that was ok. I would follow up and see if you are able to get it.

On all 4 referals, we requested more info and on 2 got a tiny bit (about 2 questions out of 10) in a week...on the other two we got no info and were told that none would be coming within 2 hours.

Its my understanding that it is up to the orphanage. I saw a post on my agencys yahoo group that it could take a few weeks for the orphanage to get back to you.
