Part in school play...."Annie"
My sweet daughter is in 3rd grade which means she can try out for the school play. The play this year is "Annie." DD is soooo excited. She wants a big role. Well, as a 3rd grader who can't carry a tune, she got the role of apple seller. Remember the apple seller in the play? Yeah, me neither. In the process of explaining that there are no small parts only small actors, my daughter blurts out...
"But I want to be an orphan! I want to be an orphan!" I had to chuckle...she's been there and done that! The play is in December - please think of my little apple seller and send her positive vibes.  She has come so far in only 4 years. Jen

Well congrats to her!

Cute!! As a former child actor (OK, so I was only Thoroughly Modern Millie in our local community theatre, but I could have been a contender...hahah!), I say break a leg.
I honestly had visions of DD being a singer/songwriter. I was hoping that she would "inherit" the musical talents of her birth mom/family. Alas, the kid and I are both "tone deaf!" Hope she enjoys it all...I am sure you will be bursting with pride!

Yeah to selling apples! I think it's great that she's interested! Yes, wanting to be an 'orphan' is hilarious. Be sure to put that in the book!

I am glad your dd got a part in the play. A small part may lead to eventual bigger and better things.
I know what you mean about the orphan. When we were thinking of names for our child, I liked the name "Annie." I met some young, pretty gal on a European tour and her name was Annie. My husband though that maybe folks would tease my child because she was adopted and call her Little Orphan Annie. But I think the name is pretty. Best wishes to your dd. Amy K, NJ

How wonderful for your DD!! Hope she has a great time with the show! Delaney loves watching the movie, I banned it for a while, but she doesn't make any connection yet!
They are also doing it here at a local theater, but the kids have to be six! Too bad, she owuld have loved even being an apple seller! Break a Leg, Girl!!!

Boy and Girl! 4/15/09 Now have 1 of 2 referrals. Still waiting on 1! 4/21/09 Received 2nd referral! 4/28/09 Accepted 2nd referral and waiting on 1st trip! 5/11/09 Child #2 is no longer available, back to waiting for another referral. 5/27/09 Still waiting for trip #1 for referral #1. Paperchasing to submit new dossier to a different region for referral #2. 6/15/09 Dossier done. Waiting for referral for #2. Still waiting on travel dates for #1. 6/17/09 Travel dates for #1! 6/25/09 Decided to complete adoption for #1 and return for #2 about 6 months after being home with #1. 6/27/09-7/4/09 Trip #1 completed
