Translation Program

I thought I had read somewhere about a program on-line that you could enter an English phrase and it would "say" the phrase back in Russian but I can't seem to find where I read it. Sound familiar to anyone?

Try Babelfish - but always do circular translation. Like if you put in "my dear son" in English and translate it to Russian - then take the cyrillic and translate it back to English - it may not say what you meant to say. My dear son doesn't come out that way. So, you may have to tweak parts of what you are saying - it doesn't translate 'pretty' language well. We tried to say "We can't wait to hug you and have you be our daughter" and it told them "We are happy to stroke you and call you child"...that sounds a little yucky! The translator right away knew we had used a translation site!

does Bablefish have sound? What I am looking for is to make sure that I am pronouncing things correctly. I don't think trying to comfort the boys with bad Russian will really help.

I don't think so - sorry. There is a CD you can purchase with phrases just for adoptive parents. It's called "Rush Into Russian" or something like that.
