First day of school pics!
Please feel free to add your own here!
Here is our big boy on his first day of 2nd grade. Buttercup wont start until next week. He is out of uniform for the first day but they have Mass so it is a dress up day for them. It rained so the pic is a bit grainy. Sorry!

First day of Kindergarten

Too cute everyone...amazing how big all the kiddos are getting.
My pictures did not turn out that great...but here they are. DD is starting 3rd and DS is in Kindy...note the same stiff nervous smile on both classroom shots?! LOL! In the middle picture DS is trying to make a 'K'...they started Monday. (We are uniform public school...this the drab outfits...although DD sneak in a non-uniform Justice skort for day one.)

i only have one at home starting school this year and he's 15 so i highly doubt he'll agree to me sharing a first-day-pic - ha!!

4 Kids - 4 Schools
Here's our four. l-r: Hannah - 8th grade. Julia - 3rd grade. Rachel - Freshman in college. Lois - Sophomore in high school.
I am expecting Julia to test out of ESL this year, though she'd still be monitored for 4th and 5th grades. (I am the legally-required ESL parent rep for our elementary school, so, that's handy!) I do worry a bit about her having to take the TAKS test this year for the first time. She's great at math - adequate (but not a whiz) in English. So I worry about the language piece of it. Our big boy has also started Kindergarten - where has the time gone....??? He was very excited the first day, especially about his uniform and his new school bag. But he hates homework! He threatened to call the President: there should be no homework - never! I did not expect this battle to start so soon...

Boy and Girl! 4/15/09 Now have 1 of 2 referrals. Still waiting on 1! 4/21/09 Received 2nd referral! 4/28/09 Accepted 2nd referral and waiting on 1st trip! 5/11/09 Child #2 is no longer available, back to waiting for another referral. 5/27/09 Still waiting for trip #1 for referral #1. Paperchasing to submit new dossier to a different region for referral #2. 6/15/09 Dossier done. Waiting for referral for #2. Still waiting on travel dates for #1. 6/17/09 Travel dates for #1! 6/25/09 Decided to complete adoption for #1 and return for #2 about 6 months after being home with #1. 6/27/09-7/4/09 Trip #1 completed

We finally started yesterday, I think we both were happy it is finally here!!!
Little Missy at her second and last year of Pre-K, in the 4 year old class now! She starts soccer this weekend and her other activities have started, dance and gymnastics. She ahd sweim lessons in Aug, but I think the lack of structured time has driven us both crazy! Horray for school! he he!
