One Year Ago Today...Forever a Family
Hello old friends!! The past year has kept me quite busy as a stay-at-home mom to our two very active toddlers. It has been pure joy. There have been some issues with our son being overly emotional and nervous, but all in all, I couldn't ask for a better family, or a better life. Here is a short story I just wrote, along with a picture of us one year ago today and one from two weeks ago (we haven't taken our today's pic yet).
Once upon a time, God designed a plan to bring together four people who really wanted a family. He sent the mommy & the daddy halfway across the world three times, all the while holding them and their two babies in His gentle embrace. Finally on ...August 18, 2008, when His timing was just right, He smiled lovingly upon them as they hugged one another tight & walked out of that rural Siberian orphanage forever a family. This is my family, and this is our story. On our custody date, Aug. 18th, our daughter was 11 mos. old and our son was 21 mos. old. Today, they are 23 mos. old and 2 years 9 mos. They make me nutty sometimes, but my heart would cease to beat without them.

Adopted one boy & one girl from Krasnoyarsk May - October, 2007 - Researching adoption/agencies October 17 - Application to adopt FedEx'd to our agency February 5 - Dossiers registered in Kras April 23 - Best day ever! Received referral for our little boy May 15 - Received our referral for our little girl! Yippee!!  May 20-25 - TRIP 1 July 29th Court Date Rescheduled - orphanage quarantine - chix pox August 5, 2008 - New Court Date August 6 - Adoptions Approved August 14 - Depart JFK Trip 3 August 18 - Custody!! Pick up Babies (11 & 21 mos old) August 23, 2008 - Home Forever

AW........congrats, Jess!!! You are such a wonderful Mom and those children are thriving becasue of it! How lucky you all are to be together!
I have tears for you today, making it past that one year mark is really something signifigant! HUGS to you all !!! We love you!!!!

9/3/08 Signed up w/agency 9/8/08 Sent I600A form without Homestudy 9/20/08 Homestudy started 9/22/08 Mailed fingerprints to FBI 10/2/08 FBI OK'd us 10/15/08 Biometrics done for I600A 11/24/08 Homestudy mailed to complete I600A 12/15/08 Dossier to Russia 1/20/09 I171H received 4/9/09 Received 2 refferals! Boy and Girl! 4/15/09 Now have 1 of 2 referrals. Still waiting on 1! 4/21/09 Received 2nd referral! 4/28/09 Accepted 2nd referral and waiting on 1st trip! 5/11/09 Child #2 is no longer available, back to waiting for another referral. 5/27/09 Still waiting for trip #1 for referral #1. Paperchasing to submit new dossier to a different region for referral #2. 6/15/09 Dossier done. Waiting for referral for #2. Still waiting on travel dates for #1. 6/17/09 Travel dates for #1! 6/25/09 Decided to complete adoption for #1 and return for #2 about 6 months after being home with #1. 6/27/09-7/4/09 Trip #1 completed

Thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOOO very much, everyone!! I've missed you all so much. It amazes me how my computer time now is fleeting and something as addicting as this site, and my friends here could have so easily taken a backseat. I guess two wild fun-loving toddlers do that to you.
I blink and it's 4pm. It's really crazy!!I can't believe a year has passed either. Time sure flies. Although it's been a year already, in many ways, most days, I truly cannot even believe that it's only been a year. They seem like they have been with us since birth. Did I really not carry these children in my womb? Because I believe in my heart that I did. I guess that's because in my heart is where they lived all along.  Hope all of your families are doing well, and I will try during this second year as a family to stop by more often than the handful of times I did in the last 12 mos. And yes, I will try to post more pictures soon!!! xoxoxoxoxo PERDUE ~ I'm so excited to see you've taken trip 1. You were just beginning when we came home. Lots of love to your growing family.

Amazing how much your children resemble you and your husband.....it really can make one believe a higher power set this up
We celebrated our 8th year home with Katerina and 1st year home with Svetlana recently by traveling to Florida. Try not to be such a stranger.....these newbies need your guidance Congrats on year one of forever
