Suntan lotion

For the 4th of July we spent the entire day at Myrtle Beach and ended up getting really bad sun burns. Luckly ds (2 yrs old) only has a little on his arms, but me and my 12 yr old dd really got it bad (2nd degree burns on her face, and on my shoulders). It was sunny, but windy and we really did not feel like we were getting burnt. I used coppertone 75 spf on all of us and reapplied it about every 1 1/2-2 hours. I was just told to try bullfrog, but I'm not sure where to find it. If anyone knows were bullfrog is sold please let me know. Or if there are any other suggestions I would appreciate it. It will probably be at least a few weeks before we hit the beach again, but I want to be prepared.

I use bullfrog on the kids, the sport one, waterproof, I think it is SPF 45 or 50. I get it at CVS pharmacy near me.
I use coppertone for myself, generally use around 30 most of the year when I am on vacation in sunnier places I use 50.Our dermatologist, said 50 is fine, anything over that isn't necessarily better. it just should protect against, UVA/UVB and say broad spectrum on the label.
My friend uses La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL for her face and swears by it, it is pricey though.

I don't use anything accept Blue Lizard. It is well known with dermatologists and has no added chemicals. It is the only sunscreen I have used on my son and he hasn't gotten any lines. It is almost impossible to find in a store but it can be found here: Sun Protective Clothing, Sun Hats, UV Protection Swimwear - Coolibar

Heard of BullFrog, never purchased.

We use No-Ad 40 or 50 on the Boys, no rash, no breakouts, no sunburn.

Water Babies by Banana Boat is another we used 50 on the Boys.

We put it on, let it dry, got dressed and went out to the Beach, Gulf and by the pool. Re-applied as necessary.

Just a bit of sun, but no pain.

However, the Aloe AfterSun, might have well been a fire ball on DS-G's arm. We gently removed it and applied the Gel After Sun, pain instantly went away. DS-L has no problems with either. I can only use lotion, Gel on severe areas (lotion burns) and well DH, likes the lobster look

Blue Lizard is the best - I second that recommendation. You can buy the bigger sizes from a number of different online stores. If you were putting the sunscreen on every couple of hours and still experienced bad burns, it could be that either not enough was being applied, or that your sunscreen expired. Good luck. Regardless of what kind you buy, even the waterproof versions should be reapplied every 2 hours.
