Hello, it's been awhile!!!

Hello everyone,

It's been a long time. For those that don't know us, we adopted a beautiful baby boy in November 2005. I'm currently wanting to adopt again and trying to convince my DH, lol!!!!

Maddox is 4.5 and doing awesome! We are so blessed and happy to have him. Would love to give him another younger brother, would love to go back to the same orphange.

So, since it has been a long time, can anyone give me round about costs these days? How about accrediated angencies? Ours is no longer working in Russia, so we would have to pick a new one.

We would be looking for a boy, I think, young and healthy as possible.

Any new advice would be appreciated!

Thanks.
Nichole

I just wanted to say HI...do remember you and have wondered how you've been! I'm out of the loop - but I do remember someone saying on another thread last week or so that for one child now it's around $50k. I think that third trip has really driven costs up!

costs

Not all agencies require 3 trips and I think most people still go on 2 trips unless they have children at home and want to come home.

Over all cost is still around $35,000-$40,000 from what my agency tells me.
I adopted in 2006 from Russia

Hi!

Much has changed recently in Russian adoptions. Three and even four trips are common...or a twenty day or longer second trip. I agree that $50,000 is a good base to use...travel costs are very high...and those are often not included in the agency estimates...or are low.

I would suggest visiting frua as there are more PAP's there and also more recently home AP's.

All the best!

We finished our 2nd adoption last year....you better be able to put together $50k for a Russian adoption now. About 50% (according to our agency) are making 2 "first" trips and few regions waive the 10 days anymore.....so Russia is most likely a 4 trip country now.

good to see you back and glad to hear all is well! The recent families from my agency have all told me between 40-50k, alot depending on travel and region. They all have done 2-3 trips. Kirov region is still 2 trip (10 days waived) so that is great.
I would love to go back for a 3rd, but we are done.

I also remember you! I think that you brought your son home just shortly after we brought ours home. He is also 4 1/2. We also have a little girl who is 1 1/2. I think that the most wonderful thing about having two children is watching the relationship between them. I cannot believe how much DS loves his baby 'sissy'. He absolutely dotes. So, good luck on trying to grow your family!

Hi there! Lots of old timers stopping in it seems. We were done just a few months before you...
If you are open to an older child, PM me, we are working with another country right now and I can not say more publicly...
