Home from first trip
Hi everyone--just wanted to let you know I am home from my first visit and had a wonderful time and great experience. I loved Krasnoyarsk, the weather, the food, the people, the theatre, and most of all the baby! Cannot wait to go back and get him. Leaving him there was VERY hard, but I am praying for a quick court date. Got to meet several other families there who were also in the process which was fun. The wait for referral was torture, but it was sure worth it! Cindy

6/1/09-6/5/09 FIRST VISIT
6/12/09 waiting for court date
6/24/09 got my court date!!
7/8/09 leave for St Petes
7/14/09 COURT
7/31/09 arrive home JFK

Are you comfortable saying which orphanage? If not, that's okay. Our son was from the Specialized Infant Orphanage in Sosnovoborsk, Krasnoyarsk. We enjoyed Krasnoyarsk too, although it seems like a lifetime ago now!

Misshawna - That is where our twins are. We also just got back. Today at work has been really hard. I am so tired.

Leaving our boys was just the worst thing.

I remember that feeling of having to leave Jaxon there and come back home. It was the worst feeling ever. Just remember that once you get them home, that feeling will be a distant memory and will be so worth every ounce of pain you felt.

I have seen multiple trips for some regions. Is Krasnoyarsk still a 2 trip region or is it more now?

I will be praying for your speedy return to get your boys.

Oh Cindy!!! I cry reading this. I'm SO happy it all worked out so perfectly.

I cannot wait to hear that you received your court date. It will be a day of great celebration.

My dad is here this week from SC, but as soon as he leaves I will email you back. Thanks for the great email. I loved hearing how wonderful your trip was.

So happy for you! I also just returned from my Trip #1 this week- on Sunday. We received our referral from Rostov on Don. It was heartbreaking to leave my boy, but he really doesn't understand what is going on yet, and he is very loved by the caretakers. I just want the endless paperwork to end so we can get back to bring him home. We are expecting to go back in Sep or Oct.
