Who are you?
TweetyMom04 Where are you from? Originally OH, now GA. Where are you in the process? Home 5 yrs! Updates? Time to renew their US Passports. Can't believe its been 5 yrs. Hurdles overcome in the last year? Hard to believe the Boys Surgery for removal of Tonsils & Adenoids and insert of Grommits was last 01 April 2008. They have made up for not hearing and lack of speech. Their favorite hobby is talking! Least favorite hobby is listening! Other interesting information you'd like to share. -They compliment each other in their weak/strong areas. DS-L is very good at math and writing. DS-G is very good in reading and 'philosophy'.

Boy, I never post anymore-never really have anything to add!
Who are you? Proudmommy of 2 (but actually of 3)-Katrina Where are you from? Pittsburgh Where are you in the process? Home 7 years, 4 years, (Russia) and 2 years (Korea) Updates? Dennis is in 2nd grade and is doing pretty well. We're getting ready to send Tommy and Claire to Kindergarten. Hurdles overcome in the last year? Learning to enjoy the kids instead of always trying to be their therapist! Other interesting information you'd like to share. Tommy has lots of individual words now and is really trying to communicate. We're starting to accept that Claire may never walk without the assistance of crutches or a walker, but she is my fiery little princess. Dennis is getting ready to make his first communion!

Where are you from: Texas Where are you in the process? Almost nine years home with my Russian Princess Updates? She is in advanced dance classes, pretty good for a kid with prosthetic legs. Hurdles overcome in the last year? Had to pull her from school after christmas, She was failing and getting further and further behind, so we are homeschooling to catch up. Other information you'd like to share: I also have three boys, two bio 15 and 14 and one from Poland - 8

MomofMikhail - Becky Where are you from? Originally Ohio, now NC Where are you in the process? Home one year as of April 1st! Updates? Taten started tots and me this week and loves it. I think he misses being around kids his age (I've kind of kept him to myself this first year) Hurdles overcome in the last year? Finally getting Taten to chew food instead of swallowing everything whole! Other interesting information you'd like to share. We are thinking about adding a third child to our family (thinking!!!! ha-ha, we'll see what happens)

Kretzklan - MK Where are you from? Denver area in Colorado - originally MO (KC area) Where are you in the process? We have been home 3.5 years from Kemerovo with our two youngest kids. Updates? The kids are growing quickly and continuing to do well in many areas...however we are struggling with attachment with both of them. It's hard. Hurdles overcome in the last year? We found a great therapist - started meds and both finally allowed ourselves to believe and understand that what was happening is not just 'something kids go through'...we have bigger fish to fry. Very sad I wasn't open minded about this from day one - our lives could already be settled if I'd just attachment parented the whole time. Other interesting information you'd like to share. I'm ok with admitting I didn't know anything when we came home...and I'm quite outspoken for my kids' now...if you need help for any reason - don't let embarrassment or guilt keep you from getting the help you need!!!

Where are you from? Born in Indianapolis but Houston is my hometown. Now living in beautiful San Antonio (and we love it) Where are you in the process? Julia (now age 9) has been home from St. Pete for almost three years. We also have three bio daughters ages 17, 15 and 13. Updates? Hurdles overcome in the last year? Julia is now dead-middle on 2nd grade reading scores, not "hanging just below." She's above average in test scores on math and science. We had our last post-placement visit two weeks ago - yeah for us! Other interesting information you'd like to share. Cyndi Where are you from? Born in San Diego, lived overseas as a kid (military Dad), lived a lot of places as an adult...we now live in Fairfield, CA. Where are you in the process? Home 2.5 yrs! Updates? Delaney is moving up in gymnastics and has started training in Team Level 1! She LOVES it. We are taking a Mommy and Me dance class once a week, it's really fun! My job commute is still awful, but work is good! Hurdles overcome in the last year? Nothing major, just enjoying being a mom with all the joys and struggles it brings! As a single mom, things can get pretty crazy, but the only thing that's suffering from that is my messy house! he he! Other interesting information you'd like to share. Possiblly starting for #2. Still figuring out how I will pay for it! Ugh! Been talking to some agencies..... I thank God everyday for putting this amazing child in my life! She is funny, smart, loving...I could not ask for more!

 Who are you? Katherine Where are you from? Originally MA, live in NC now Where are you in the process? Home with DD#1 four years Home with DD#2 3 months!! Updates? See above and below . . . Hurdles overcome in the last year? Completing the adoption of dd#2 at the very end of last year - home mid December - yeah! Other interesting information you'd like to share. Both DDs are doing great, and these two very different personalities get along better than I could ever have imagined!

Where are you from? Kenosha, WI Where are you in the process? We have all of out paperwork into Russia and are just waiting for a referral. Updates? Last time I asked the social worker she said that there were 3 families that had their paperwork in before us but she was not specific on what they were looking for compared to us. Hurdles overcome in the last year? Just making the decision to go ahead with this. Other interesting information you'd like to share I was adopted as an infant and my husband was adopted by his father (his mother is his birthmother). So adoption has always been part of out families.

Where are you from? Colorado (but live in Texas) Where are you in the process? DS#1 has been home for 18 months. We in process with adoption #2. Updates? We leave for court this Saturday! Hurdles overcome in the last year? The adoption paperwork keeps getting more difficult...much tougher than in 2007

Court was 3/10, done with 10 day wait, just waiting for the courier to return from Moscow so I can bring my little Tot home! Updates? 9/3/08 Signed up w/agency 9/8/08 Sent I600A form without Homestudy 9/20/08 Homestudy started 9/22/08 Mailed fingerprints to FBI 10/2/08 FBI OK'd us 10/15/08 Biometrics done for I600A 11/24/08 Homestudy mailed to complete I600A 12/15/08 Dossier to Russia 1/20/09 I171H received 4/9/09 Received 2 refferals! Boy and Girl! 4/15/09 Now have 1 of 2 referrals. Still waiting on 1! 4/21/09 Received 2nd referral! 4/28/09 Accepted 2nd referral and waiting on 1st trip! 5/11/09 Child #2 is no longer available, back to waiting for another referral. 5/27/09 Still waiting for trip #1 for referral #1. Paperchasing to submit new dossier to a different region for referral #2. 6/15/09 Dossier done. Waiting for referral for #2. Still waiting on travel dates for #1. 6/17/09 Travel dates for #1! 6/25/09 Decided to complete adoption for #1 and return for #2 about 6 months after being home with #1. 6/27/09-7/4/09 Trip #1 completed
