It's like childbirth - I can't even remember the process now - so someday you will forget all this. I don't even know what the I797c is! I hope it gets there - you'll have the holiday slow down - they are pretty much shut down for like 2 weeks...

kretzklan - It is the 171H. Some states do a 171H. Some do a I797C.
Coachmom - I assume it is like Guat and your local office sends it to the National Visa Center and then they cable it to the Embassy in Moscow? Have you contacted your local office and the National Visa Center? Also, getting your congressperson involved is an option. Good luck!

They have nothing? Since Dec. 18th? Was that the date of the approval? How can your local office have nothing? What is truely scary is it is sometimes done by snail mail. I know of people whose new print approval was sent by mail to the NVC and then via diplomatic pouch to the Guat Embassy. (Super slow!) TOTALLY ABSURD!
Don't wait. Call your congressperson. You might post on the Guat forum too. With the shutdown this is coming up there any more, but a year ago there were more people having issues with the NVC than I care to think about. Hopefully someone can give you more advice. Good luck!

We had to update our I-171H to increase age range before trip 2. We traveled on the local offices word that it would be there by the time we got to the Embassy. Our homestudy SW used her contacts at the INS to make sure they stayed on top of it. Thankfully, it was there when we arrived (the entire update was done and in Moscow within two weeks).
Personally, I wouldn't wait. I never could get through to anyone at INS. Don't be afraid to ask your agency or SW for help! I hope it gets to you very quickly!

the date of the approval on my hard copy says December 18. We sent a hard copy to Russia and it is now in Rostov. But there is supposed to be an electronic cable that is supposed to be sent to Moscow. I am going to keep calling the National Visa Center and e-maling Moscow.
Geez..like I dont have enough to do. I dont think the SW would be able to do anything. the agency however said they would make any phone call necessary. Coachmom

Easy there girl! It is not your first rodeo... but it is a Russian Rodeo. They are so slow it boggles the mind! Every adoption is different even with the same agency. I watched everyone around me sign up, line up and come home..... I was seriously shopping bazooks! Then it happened! Keeping you in our prayers!

so sorry you are still waiting, hopefully you hear some good news this week. I dont remember this one being an issue for us, though there never seems to be any rhyme or reason why some people have troubles and others dont? Crazy!!
Hope you are on your way to court very soon!!
