Homestudy Report question

I was just wondering how long you guys waiting to get your homestudy draft. I have been waiting about a month now. I believe the draft is done, but my agency doesn't have it yet. I know with the holidays and all it takes longer but I was just curious what the average wait was.

thanks

Frankly, given that agencies and social workers have email, there is no reason that the agency should not receive a draft immediately upon completion.

Do remember that many homestudy agencies do NOT share the draft with prospective parents. Up until several years ago, homestudy drafts were never shared with prospective parents, as agencies felt that the prospective parents might try to influence them to make inappropriate changes.

It seems kind of long to me. I had mine back to review in a couple days, same with PPRs. I know a lot of other families who have theirs back pretty quickly, too. (same agency as well as not). I'd make some calls, you paid for a service and it needs to be completed.

couple days here as well, 5 days was the longest, we always received a draft copy via email to make sure there was nothing incorrect and we also shared it with our placement agency as well, to make sure it looked good for their end.

I would call and check on things.

We waited for a month with one HS person and our new guy who does PPlacement reports had them mailed and in our box in a total of 5 days.

If I was waiting a month, I would be on the horn asking for a completion date. Don't be nervous by asking for it. Tell them you have an opportunity to get a referral quickly and insist on a completion date.

p.s. our month person for the HS was so lame and I was very nervous that anything I did might upset her..... I really kept too quiet. Just a thought.... good luck with everything.

One more thought....Remember you are paying for a service and the service has been rendered now you need what you paid for. Think of the HS person as an employee with credentials you need to get the job done.

I ended up getting it right after I posted this. My agency also has its and will have it reviewed on monday. I guess it took about 3-4 weeks. I told her I would be away for 10 days but I still thought that it took a little long. Well I am glad the draft is completed. I didn't see any changes that need to be made to the draft either, which is great.
