You never forget
the waiting, the delays, the longing to just meet your child.
Sadie has been home a year and a half now. And from the day I met her all the pain of the wait faded in to the background. However yesterday I received a news letter from my old agency. It was full of information on accreditation, the Hague laws, etc. and what that equated to were delays for many waiters of many countries. As I read I became very emotional and the sudden rush of emotions came flooding back remembering the downward spiral a letter like that would send me in to. However, as I say that, now having my daughter home, I know that each of the delays and difficulties of our adoption are what led us to the daughter that is nothing but a perfect fit for our family! For all you waiters my thoughts are with you!! And here's a little face to show you just how worth it every bit of the waiting is!!!

Sadie is such a cutie-pie!!!
The tough wait gets farther away, but when your baby is home it makes you appreciate EVERYTHING you went through to hold them in your arms! And that is worth it's weight in the plane you went get them on!! he he! .....And then they are slipping crackers into the DVD player, getting into your makeup, ...and saying "I love you, Mommy!"....... Hang in there friends....it will happen!

well said lovestruck!
sometimes when i read the boards and hear about the latest obstacles and challenges people are facing, that old familiar pit in my stomach hits me. i know lots of you can relate. it's something i'll never forget. don't give up. and come here to vent and get support. we can't really fix anything for you, but at least there are people here who GET IT.

I agree, well said! We adopted from Kazakhstan and when the Amazing Race was in the Almaty airport I swear I started to sweat from the stress. Also, we watched the first four seasons of 24 while in Kaz and whenever I hear the show starting I get chills.
However, I'd go back tomorrow if someone wants to do all the paperwork for me...oh and pay for it! Hang in there all, it is worth every second of pain a million times over. |

I agree - PLEASE, never lose hope, I know it's crazy during the agony of waiting, but it is so absolutely worth everything when you finally get there.
Big hugs and God bless.

While I know I'll have feeling of everything being perfectly planned, that the wait will all be "worth it", it's very hard to believe right now that the wait will ever be forgotten.
Hanging in there... K

She is adorable! And I agree that we are led to the children who are just perfect for our families...even when it doesn't seem like it at times.

Here, Here!
I have to agree with you. I remember those days of waiting and not knowing. Crying myself to sleep knowing that my son was not in my arms. The pain of this delay or that delay.
For those of you that are still waiting, hang in there! We know what you are going through and the frustrations that you are feeling. We are here for you if you should need us. Having my son home did make me forget all about the heartaches you feel before BUT, you are stronger for having the experience. With love and respect,
