Your children are SOOOOOOOOOOO gorgeous!!!!!! I was coming on here to actually post with similar type questions as yours so it was neat to read the responses. I owe you an email! Sorry, I've been sick - YES...AGAIN. Ugh. This mommy thing is SO tiring, but So wonderful too.

Hope you are feeling better now!

I somehow missed this...your kiddos are cuties.

I'll comment on the bonding/attaching with DH first...my DS took so long to attach to Daddy. He screamed bloody murder for the first 11 months he was home if daddy came near him. It was awful for all involved...until one night. DH's grandmother was dying...we were 1200 miles away and getting phone call updates quite often. DH was very sad...near tears...when all of a sudden DS (19 months old at the time) toddles over to DH with his bottle, climbs up into his lap, snuggled up and fell sound asleep on DH. We then got the call the DH's grandmother had passed at the same time DS did this. I know this sounds strange but I still believe this was a final gift from DH's grandmother...and I swear from that day forward DS has carried a bit of DH's grandmothers spunk. I also think that for DS seeing DH was bummed out, so emotional really helped him realize daddy wasn't such a bad guy. A4everFamily.org - HOME has some good attachment building activities, books, and ideas. Attachment typically happens with one person at a time as well.

My two cents on the potty training...forget about it and regress them back to diapers...very good for attachment. As for the walks...trust your instincts!

Good luck and congrats!

I meant to say that I totally agree...keep them in diapers. Mine are about a year younger than yours, but diapering is about my very favorite thing to do!! It's so nurturing and loving and they feel it. They look up at me and smile wide, we sing and play games...I have a special little routine I do and they both LOVE it.

Welcome Home!!! How cute are they?!?!? Congrats! With two, it's going take some more work and a little longer for bonding, but you are on the right track ~ Way to go Mama!!!!! Bonding with DH will come, your story is very common. They have not seen very many men in their short lives!
Walk, walk walk....sing, talk, DD used to like to do ABC's and count while walking. Then we would count in Russian and Spanish.
DS will be okay with his name, you've been home such a short time. I'll tell you the true attachment and bonding was much more evident once she had been with me longer than she was in the BH! It's process, so take baby steps with them, hug them love them and hug them from me and Delaney!! They are so sweet! Hug DH, it will get better for him, they can really only attach to one at a time.
Here's a great example: Two wonderful things happened this week...."Mommy, you are the sweetest Mommy!" and "Mommy, if I could take you to Share Day, I would say, this is my Mommy and I love her so much!" OMG! Did I wait so long to hear things like that, even with no real issues with her!
Be consistent with them in your discipline and routine. They need to know exactly what the consequences of pushing the boundries will be, even if you have to change it, as long as they know, and you follow through, they will get it!
You are doing an awsome job!!

Thanks everyone! My DH doesn't understand sometimes and has a really a hard time when they scream to be near him. I have a hard time giving them all the love they want and need. I am only one and sometimes if I am holding one the other is at my feet screamming. so teh human jungle gym trys to hold both but my back is starting to feel it. I wanted to lose ten more pounds and I have been taking in extra calories since they like feeding me as I am feeding them. I still lost another 3 pounds that how much teh human jungle gym is lifting and carrying.
My DD hhas been getting 2 ANTIBIOTICS which doesn't help the bonding process one is for giardia andother is for a rash that the doctor was not sure if it was lyme diease which thankfully it was not! but teh antibiotic are just nasty stuff. Candy corn has become my best friend for getting the nasty down! yeah for that! Our one month aniversary is approaching. Hair is growing thankfully. Poor child keeps getting taken as a boy.
I hear often your boys are just gorgous do they not see the pink? Oh well soon enough.
XOXOOXOOXOOXOOX
to all I could not get through the journey and these first few challenging times without all of you.

just wanted to remind you to nap when they nap. it's just for a season that you need to really keep your fuel tank full. forget the list of things you "need" to do. REST.

DD takes her nap from 1-3......I keep trying to tell my boss that, but he's not buying it!

The kids are adorable!

The psych and IA doc have good advice...but you are now the one that knows them best. If they find a walk or trip to a playground comforting - go.

I think we have all received this type of advice that may be routed in some good intentions but reality if you need the walk, take it. And its good for them to learn to sit in the stroller and be pushed. Let them relax.

I don't know what we would have done without the park down the street. We were there almost every day when we first came home. She knew how to play on the playground and that was comforting.
