I know this is sort of early...but our Costume Express catalog recently was delivered. So what are your kids going to be?

DD, 7, is going to be an 80's Diva...I love it as I graduated from high school in 1983...so I am so into the fashions...LOL!

DS, 5, is going to be a firefighter...complete with a plastic ax and a blow up airtank.

Lets see,
Ds 8 is going to be Frodo from Lord of the Rings (his brothers thought Legolas would be funny since he has no legs, but dh said people wouldn't get it and he wanted to be frodo anyway)
DD 9 is going to be a graveyard fairy. She chose it, she has always had really girly costumes, princesses until last year when she was Hannah Montana. This is a black and purple fairy, kind of strange but she loves it.
Ds 13 is going to wear a scary rubber mask and all black and a black cape. This is actually the first time he has gone for scary too.
DS 15 will be dressed as a tuba player in a marching band. (he has to play at a football game that night, and it's an away game so no time for anything fun)
dh and I found some mideval type costumes we will wear, since they begged us to dress up too.

My *dream* has always been to handmake their costumes, as that's what my mom always did with ours, however being SO new to this at-home mom thing, I'm not sure it's going to happen. I still dream of doing it, and I may try, but it may not come to full fruition...perhaps I'll pass it along to my mom to do. That's a grandmotherly thing that I think she'd love!! She's actually making their Christening outfits too.

Ok, anyhow, I digress...sorry!!

DD - age 13 mos. will be some sort of a bug or butterfly in unconventional colors (teal, purple, etc.)

DS - age 22 mos. will be a puppy doggie.


This is fun!!! Can't wait to hear about everyone else's...love the ideas shared so far.

Darth Vader here for my little guy complete with the breathy voice box (when you press the button on this little device that you hide in your pocket it has the raspy, breathy sound of Darth Vader) and light saber. He actually looks adorable in the costume even though mommy would have liked something less evil I think !!!

Mine was a cat two years ago and wants to be a cat again. The costume needs a little primping, which will take place after the birthday celebration in two weeks. I am going with it! She is happy and I save some $.

She really does look cute with a pink nose. I hope this sticks. I am not a big Halloween fan and I am thrilled not to have to spend on costumes.

At first Delaney said she wanted to be a cat, then a Mad Pirate.....then we went to the Halloween store to look at costumes where she considered, a skelton, a football player, an angel, a good witch, a police officer on a motorcycle and a clown.
She now can't decide. The last update was the other night as she was falling asleep, I was laying with her becasue I had come home from work late and she barely got out before drifting away..."Mommy, I want to be Ceetah girl for Halloween....."
So...we will see! I probably should not have taken her to the Halloween store!

Taten is going to be a pumkin. This will be his first halloween with us and I'm kind of afraid he is going to be scared with all the scary costumes that will be out there. So we will see!

DS1 is not dressing up for the first time. Says he'll have some friends over and hide in our bushes and scare kids (that happens in our neighborhood every year - so the little ones come prepared...didn't want you to think we are just letting my son be a hooligan)
DS2 wants to be something creepy - like a zombie...but I won't allow blood or weapons, so not sure how that will work.
DD wants to be an angel ghost. What? She says she saw it on the window of the halloween shop we go to. Don't know what that is...
Halloween will be on the down low for us this year - we are gone until the 27th so I won't be decorating (we have like 12 boxes of Halloween decs) and we'll be spending about 15 minutes in the costume store to pick up the prebagged stuff!

Both boys have chosen to go as zombie lacrosse players. Not sure how that's going to end up looking, but at least they go out when it's dark.

We made a trip inside the costume shop and it all changed. Cole and Delaney are going to be gangsters - like old school Sopranos gangster (with nerf guns that aren't loaded). I can't believe they are willing to dress "alike" - what cute pictures we'll have. I'm almost thinking of buying the teen version for Rylie just for pictures!

I think you guys are very daring to commit to costumes this early. My two will change their minds a dozen times before the big day. DS has a costume party the first week of October and then we have our big school Halloween party/fundraiser the weekend before school so we usually get a few a wearings out of the costumes.

Right now DS wants to be the "man in black" (which is from Princess Bride) but its a Zorro costume.

Girlie is thinking Minnie Mouse.
