Safely in Siberia!
Hello my friends,
We're here!! It was an eventful trip, as were our first two, but we've been here for about 24 hours now, and slept for 18 of them. Tomorrow morning, we pick up our court decree and then head to the orphange. Please pray for us that everything goes well!! I'll keep you posted and BB as soon as I can to share pics and stories. We'll be back in the States on August 23rd, God willing, as a family of four!!! Woo hoo!!! SOOOOOOOOOOOO excited...I just can't wait until tomorrow. Talk to you all soon. Thank you so much for your support throughout our journey. Much love, Jessi xoxoxox

I have been thinking and praying for you and your family! I am sooooo happy just to hear that you are safely there! Sleep alot it makes the time go by quickly.
Praying now for a safe journey home! Oh by the way, do not take a cell phone into the American Embassy. I took my bookbag/diaperbag with me and forgot that I had the phone buried in the side. The security guard said I had one, (after a week you do forgot what is here and there,) Well, I said I don't have a phone, needless to say I had to empty my bags and poof there it was! DUHHHHH. Well that is what happens when you are wrapped up getting all your documents ready and looking after your new child. Just a funny little story! ![]() |

I am glad you made it safely to the other side of the pond(actually the other side of the world)...
Best of luck with bringing the kiddos home. I remember the first day we got Joanna. We were very happy, but part of me wondered what the Heck do I do with a baby? It got easier from there. Keep us posted.Amy K, NJ

Glad to hear that you made it safely to Siberia. It is good that you are getting your rest now. You will need it once the children are with you.
Another hint about the Embassy, don't bring a camera or any type of electronic device. Just bring the basics, a couple of bottles for the kids, a snack, diapers, a small toy or two to keep them occupied and of course your paperwork. The less you bring, the less they will have to go through. Just think of it as going through the airport security lines. I hope the rest of your trip goes smoothly. |

I'm actually eating some Russian chocolate reading this thread. My tips for the embassy:
1. Get there as early as they will let you in 2. Bring a stroller for the kids since they sometimes run out of chairs 3. Bring small plastic toys for the kids 4. Bring some small rouble notes (ex 50 rouble) for the Coke machine.....which has the coldest drinks like ever 5. Bring your patience....if the room is full it gets kind of trying....but overall its a happy place
