Memphis USCIS FP
Dear Tennessee Forum Members,
I need your assistance for a friend of mine. She and her husband are hoping to get their FP appointment scheduled as soon as possible. USCIS amde an error on their original approval giving them the incorrect expiration date and they have determined that their FP are not expired and they are about to bring home their child. She has requested an appointment, however, she has not received a rely from the Memphis USCIS Office. She has already contacted her State Reps via email and has not gotten a reply. Does anyone know what the turn around time is from the submission of a request for renewal and receving the FP appoitment and then the time frame from appoitment to updated I-797 (I-171H)? ANY suggestions are welcomed. Thanks! ![]()

I went through the process in 2004/2005. The only suggestion I can make is to just show up on the day they do fingerprints. The Nashville office does fingerprinting every Wednesday (or at least they did in 2004). You did not need an appointment per se; you simply pick a Wednesday -once you got your letter from USCIS - and show up at the office, homestudy in hand.
Good luck making phone contact with anyone in that office. I had to have my fingerprints re-done, and despite many efforts, I could not get anyone at all on the phone. I called my US Congressman's office in East TN, and they said THEY couldn't get anyone on the phone, either. I have heard that Congressman Ford's office used to have a staff member working on immigration and could get through to them. (But he's out of office now.) You might try Congressman Cohen's office and see if they can help. Good luck, Cindyc of Tennessee |
