2008 Russian adoptions
I am hoping tobe an adoptive parent soon. Iwas just wondering has anyone completed an adoption from Russia in '08? And does anyone know what the current wait time is for young girls?

We are completing one in two weeks. At our agency, referrals are still slow sine reaccreditation last December. And there are less children available to adopt (they closed down an orphanage in our region). AND the referrals we get are less healthy now so there are higher turn-down rates (our agency says close to 50%).....and these days, if you turn down a referral (as we did) there are not other children you can meet so you you stay at the top of your agency's list which keeps everyone waiting longer.
I'm not negative its still fantastic, but it isn't easy like it used to be......

We brought home our 17 month old son in June. It was a great expereience and went fairly smoothly. It took just under 1 year from signing with the agency to bringing him home. Good luck!

We brought our son home in just over a years time (13 mths), but we do have friends that adopted a little girl at the same time as us, and I think from the time they signed with their agency to gotcha day was closer to 18-20 months. Hope this helps!
