Having a MELT DOWN
WE are home now two weeks after meeting our children and I can not take it anymore! I am waiting on a Piece of paper and NO ONE SEEMS TO BE OUT THERE TO HELP!
I have called and I get no repsonse i e-mail and No response. My next move is coming from another forum pal who suggested calling a congressmen. I willing to do anything at this point I just want to know that we are moving forward to getting my kids. Just need to rant. Thank you guys in advance! WHY DOES EVERYTHING HAS TO BE SO HARD SOMETIMES!

What piece of paper? Submitted how? And waiting on whom? Chances are, some other forum friend has been where you are and can give some good advice.
I hate waiting, too, and I'm not very good at it either. Especially when my kids are involved. My sincere sympathies. Becky The Woodworth Family in Beautiful San Antonio TX |

i'm so sorry. i understand all too well.
definitely give more details as there are a lot of people out here who have been thru this. we got our congressman "involved", if you can call it that. he was useless. but i know others have had better luck. you might want to consider a senator instead. from what i've read on the boards, that title seems to have had more success for people. again, i am so sorry. i completely know how you are feeling.

((((HUGS)))). I feel for you Ophelia. I think Id have a meltdown myself if I were in your shoes. Back when we did our paperwork in 06 I would call that number in Newark and they would pick up. Sometimes you had to call later in the day or call a day or two later but they answered. To the best of my knowledge there were a few times I left a message on their answering machine at Newark USCIS but they didnt return the call. I would try to keep calling and try to logically call at what would be "quieter" times of the week, eg. not Monday morning when everyone would call.
Also, I dont know if it affects the USCIS office, but recently Governor Corzine really tightened up the NJ state budget(more like squeezed it). I am wondering if they still have the same level of staffing to cover the processing work as they have had in prior years? I have heard there are going to be early retirement incentives for state workers and there are layoffs in some areas, etc. Not that it helps you but trying to make you aware that this may be what's going on. Anyway, I would still ring USCIS regularly and hopefully they will finally pick up. Amy K, NJ

I know exactly how you feel - it stinks...sometimes you just have to throw you hands up and trust it will work out as it is meant to. I know how hard that is believe me...to not be able to do anything makes you feel even more powerless...
I agree with the others - post your specifics and maybe someone here can help. Hang in there!

Tara ~ I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy that you at least got the call that you were approved. I'm SO sorry that you have to wait another two weeks though. I know what that's like. Our court delay has seemed like torture.
I keep thinking we'd be leaving in 5 days if we weren't delayed...and now we still have to wait 14. So many of us understand the torture and the agony of the wait. Rant all you want!!! It sometimes helps to feel better. You'll be off before you know it... Many of God's blessings...
