FIRST MOTHER FOUND! and sleep update

On Mother's day We initiated a First Mother search and have been notified that we have success! Talk about the proverbial needle in the haystack. My goodness!

This weekend she received our letter and photos.

I feel thrilled, nervous, super happy and all the feelings one might feel in this situation. Not sure where it will all lead but I really feel like it was the right thing to do for us and especially for our Son.

Just wanted to share the news!

p.s. We also just returned from vacation where DS slept like a champ. Can you imagine!!! Every night he went down like the sweet angel he is without a problem. We have been home 2 nights and we are doig great!

That is great!

I have always wanted to do it. I have my oldest son's birth mother information. Unfortunately my second son was a foundling and we have no information on his birth parents.

I'm so happy for you finding Russian mom! I hope you get lots of info that we all would like to have! We are trying to keep in touch with C's sisters, but they haven't responded lately - so looking into a search for them.
Glad that he's sleeping well! I'm sure you are enjoying catching up!

Glad to hear your sweetie is back as far as sleep. Not getting enough sleep can make us all irritable and kind of unlikeable.

I'll look forward to hearing about your birthmother contact if you feel like sharing it with us here.

I know that for our family now is not the right time, but it is interesting to hear the different ways that these things can work out.

Wow Dixie, I didn't even know you were looking! We were told DS's first mother used a false name so I don't even know if it's worth the money to try...

Wow! Congrats things worked out as you wanted. I have no plans to ever conduct a search unless Drew insists on it when he's old enough to make that choice. His birthmother left him at the hospital and took off without telling anyone. No one ever attempted contact with him the 15 months he was in the orphanage. I guess I feel I'm his one and only Mommy. However, everyone needs to do the best thing for their situation and it will be interesting to hear how things progress.

Good Luck and great news about the sleeping!
