Prayer Request
I really need some prayers from my forum friends.
Here is the story..... As you know we have been on hold with adoption number 2 for more than a year. We have been having fun as a family and buying out our business partner and hoping to find a new house, had some family living with us for a while etc. etc. Before we knew it we had been on hold for a year. I believe with all of my heart that miracles happen every day and we get the children we are supposed to have. So, today I am sitting by a 70ish woman holding a 6 month old on her lap. I of course was gaga over the baby cooing and making an utter fool of myself but loving very minute of it. She commented that she had 5 kids and that 3 are adopted. She asked me how many kids we have and I shared our journey etc. I shared with her that we are dying to adopt a baby girl and are considering IA or open adoption. Turns out baby lives with grandma. The state feels she and her DH are too old to take on an additional responsibility as they have the baby's much older sibs as well and is pushing foster care/adoption. You can see where this is leading. She commented after we spoke that she felt she had just met an angel (me) and that she had felt she had known me for years and so I gave her my card. I said if there was anything I could do to help her to call on me. Baby sitting relief etc.. She said they are looking for someone to take the baby. It was then that she put the baby on her shoulder and I noticed she had a severe bald spot and really matted hair from obvious neglect. She was really cleaned up but there was some tell tale signs like the matted hair. Poor little buddie. The baby is "K" and she is 6 months old. Two alcoholic parents. The mother called the babies Grandmother and said I'm on the corner witout formula or diapers and you need to come get the baby. So the grandmother went to get the baby. Now what? My hope is that you will all pray for Gods will for this child. She is so deserving of a loving family and the best place is to be with her own family. If that is not possible then a loving family should be available to her so that a connection to her siblings and grandparents can be available as well. We are here. Our hearts are open our arms are open. All I ask is for prayers for God's will. Nothing more. Thanks friends!

Prayers that God may help that poor baby, her parents and grandmother figure what is best for all involved. Poor baby 'K'...
Prayers for you that you will find your baby girl as well..wherever and whoever she may be!

Mom to bio dd - age 14 - Mom to adopted ds - age 8 - Waiting to adopt #3 from South Africa December 2005 - Began Homestudy May 2006 - Homestudy approved -  June 2006 - Profile in South Africa July 2006 - waiting for a referral!!!!!! Nov 2006 - Referral - it's a boy!!!!  Dec 27th - leave for SA! the countdown begins.... January 22nd - Home in Canada with new baby boy.
