Bryasnk Region?

Hello,

I don't post very often but my husband and I are in the process of adopting a toddler in Russia. Our agency put our dossier in the Rostov-on-Don region but after many months of waiting and no referral we were told they were changing it to the Bryasnk region and we should have travel dates on Friday.

I've done all my homework on Rostov-on-Don but I know nothing about Bryasnk. Has anyone here been there and could you share your experience?

Thanks,
Lori

Hi Lori,

We adopted our little girl from Bryansk in 2006 when she was 20 months old. She is now a smart, beautiful, funny little 3 1/2 year old who is the light of our lives.

Bryansk is a six hour train ride from Moscow and is and old militarty city. We found the people to be very nice. The hotel was old but clean and the food in the hotel was good.

Our daughter is from the Klintsy Baby home which is a 2 hour car ride from Bryansk. However if you take the train all the way from Moscow to Klinsty it's a wopping 12 hour train ride - I don't recommend that if you don't have to do it.

The baby home was clean, not that we saw anything but the directors office, all doors and other areas were kept closed. But our daughter was obviously well cared for there which is all that was important to us. She was a fat, happy baby when we met her, the unfortunate thing for us was that we got caught up in the reaccrediation delays and it took us way to long to bring our daughter home, but in the end it's was all so worth it.

Please PM me if you want more information and I wish you the best of luck and a safe journey.

Karen
