Adoption Reimbursement
My company just changed their adoption reimbursement from $3000 to $10,000 !!! Thought I would mention it in case those of you in process want to check your company's benefits on this. I got the $3000 promptly last year when I applied for it, and it helped me while I was on leave, but wow, $10,000 would have been REALLY been nice!

WOW, I want to work for your company!!!
DH company gave 2000 (pre tax), but would not do that 2x's for our double trouble we brought home early this year.......every little bit helps, but wow, 10k would really take a dent out of things!

Our company's always given $5K for our adoptions. Nice and it is per child. We also receive it promptly upon our return. Have to call HR(they know us personally there--LOL) and see if it increased. That would be awesome! DH better watch out if it's $10K now--LOL. Doubt it is but boy, that would give us an option later on.
 . Thanks for letting us know and all I can say is way to go Comcast! There is a list of companies out there and how much they give employees for a adoption expense. Most are $3 to $5K but are slowly increasing over the years. Anyone know of the site? Dont' have the money now but just in case....LOL Have a great week!

I also got 10,000 per child for adoption, but my company was really stingy with time off. I would have skipped the money and taken 3 more months of time with my kids....
just a heads up on reimbursment if you do get big money...If you are close to the limit on the adoption credit for federal tax have an accountant look at how your taxes (for the first year you can claim your kids) will go. Money from your company will be added to your total income after deductions and this is the number you need to have be below the cut-off for the federal credit. If you can't claim your federal credit the first year, it goes away. So check it out in case you need to wait on your company check.
