Since we adopted DS from Moscow, we had a lot of time on trip two to sightsee. We went to the Baby Home in the AM and then had the afternoon to see Moscow while waiting for the 10 days. Once we got custody of DS the extent of "travelling" was a quick trip to Red Square since we wanted a picture, and evening trips to get some dinner. Once we had DS we didn't want to venture out much, just stay together and get to know one another.

I can't say we did much, having said we had a number of days in Kamchatka and only one day in Moscow. The weather was very bad in Kamchatka so we only went out for some air, to the local store and doing paperwork. The day in Moscow was spent at the embassy in the morning and then we went to a big childrens inside play area after that. We were so jetlagged it was hard to keep my wits about me crossing the road and Antonina had crashed out by about 3pm and didn't come round till the next morning. Trust me I was right there with her but had to stay awake as our final paperwork was being delivered to the hotel at 7pm!

We didn't leave our apartment much the 3 weeks we were in Khabarovsk. It was WAYYYYYYYYYYYY too cold!!!!! We went in February. So no, you are not the only one. We were bored out of our minds for those 3 weeks. I would say we were in the room for at least 80% of the time. People, I HIGHLY suggest getting the largest apartment you can while on your 2nd trip! The measly kitchen and one room we were in all the time was MISERABLE! LOL Thank God for the internet!

We were there in 2006 as some of the first families to get through court after the year delay on accredidation. We were told to keep our heads down due to anti American sentiment. This was also around the time the Italian couple had their baby taken away for awhile because a Russian who was anti adoption had lied and said they had hit thier child on the airplane. Our boys were 3 and 5, so both verbal and active. We only took 1 trip outside the hotel in Moscow because they would tell anyone they were going to America. all and all a very stressful time. we photoshopped them into Red Square instead of taking them

We were out and about a lot in Kemerovo...at least once a day to go to a park (and it was freezing, snow on the slides, ice on the swings) and then again to walk to dinner somewhere in town. The kids (including our oldest) were totally stir crazy. Once we got to Moscow, we had a huge suite, so they had more room to run. We got out once a day for a short walk around the block and a couple of times in the evening to eat out. I went out each evening with my oldest son to walk and pick up food for all of us...maybe a paper. We did most of our sightseeing on trip one and then on trip two before picking up the kids. We did make "the trip" to Red Square for the picture in front of St. Basils...but literally drove there, took the picture and drove back!
