We had a slightly different experience. First of all, I was shocked at how emotional I was as I began to speak in court. Although it is the job of your coordinators to make sure all of your paperwork is in order, that doesn't mean it always happens. After an hour of talking to a very nice judge, she started rifeling through our paperwork and we knew immediately something was wrong. She had asked for additional paperwork that our coordinators never got to her. We were STUNNED when she said we had to come back with proper paperwork. We didn't even know what she wanted. Our coordinators knew she wanted something, but made us run around gathering the wrong things before we left. Luckily, our families made a mad dash to get what we needed (costing us TONS of extra money in lawyer and CPA fees) and the judge set us up with a court date the very next day. She told us if our paperwork wasn't together by then, we would have to come back in two months or so. Although our coordinators STILL did not get the paperwork right, she granted us our son after additional time in court. It was a NIGHTMARE . . . . BUT . . . we have him now and it was all worth it. My advice is to stay on top of your paperwork as much as possible and make sure you have copies of EVERYTHING with you.

Well I have heard all positive cases except for 2. I don't know how valid there are because they are second hand information.
I heard of one couple who started arguing with each other in court and the judge denied it. The other one was recently. I heard from a family who just got back that a judge said no in court because they were American. I hope it is not true.
