We're home with our little boy
Many thanks to everyone on this board who has continued to help keep my head above water, when I thought this process would overtake me. It has been a long journey, as I am sure has been the case for many of you here... but, so worth it. It took 3 trips for us and lots of patience, but it all seems like a blur now.
We had a near perfect trip... court went smoothly, he adjusted well, eating well, sleeping well. We've been so completely blessed. He is almost 11 mos old and a very happy, mischievious, curious, funny little guy. Our coordinator/translator in Kirov were outstanding. The whole process was so smooth. We were at the Embassy with approximately 12 or 13 other families adopting... so things are moving. I know things are slow now, for the summer. I went through that last year. But, we have several friends returning to Russia for court in July and pray there will be many more of you leaving this summer to meet your children. Thanks again for the well wishes and advice. I am sure I will come here with many questions in the near future... but, for now I am just enjoying every minute of motherhood.

Robin He has one, she has two, now adopting one together. 2005: 2/05 - 7/05- Research process/agencies 7/25-Submitted app to agency & I-600A to USCIS. 8/26 & 9/8-Homestudy interviews and visit to our home 10/12-Homestudy approved-mailed to USCIS 11/8-Fingerprint appts; dossier sent for apostilling 11/21-Dossier sent to Russia for translation 2006: 1/12 - Rcvd 171-H - sent to Russia for transl. 3/6 - Officially Registered in Smolensk!!! 5/17 - Waiting on reaccreditation (NGO rcvd) 10/13/06 - Accepted Referral of 24 mo old boy  2007: Feb - redid entire dossier and fingerprints.... May 31 - June 8 TRIP 1!!! June 28th - received new 171-H Aug 1 - court Aug 9 - home forever with Cole!

Oh Christi!
I am sooo happy for you! I know you guys went through so much...and I am just thrilled that it turned out just as it was meant to in the end! Our Hannah was a few days short of 11 months too when we completed the adoption...it is absolutely AMAZING how much she has grown and changed in a year. Now you can look forward to a wonderful summer, much to be thankful for at Thanksgiving, and a special Christmas that you will never forget! WOOO HOOOO Let the good times roll!!!!!!!!!

Lost referral in-country got a new one! 4/11/06 Signed for a 9 1/2 month old girl!! 5/16/06 Leaving on Trip 2 COURT DATES May 23 and 25th! 5/26/06 GOTCHA!! our prayers have been answered!! We welcome our sweet angel Hannah to our family! 6/2/06 Home forever!

It's so good to hear your wonderful news! We all need this right now as things are dragging on and taking so long.
Please post pics of your beautiful prince when you get a moment's peace, although those days are pretty much over now, mommy!  Enjoy these precious new moments together - they are so special and go so fast. Before you know it, you won't remember what life was like without him! God bless, Shawn

Two boys (5 and 7) Feb 05 to Aug 06 unsuccessful in Russia August 06, changing countries (paperchasing) Oct 06 dossier sent to agency Nov 06 dossier made it through the Embassy, now it's on its way to Kaz!! Dec 06 dossier at the first Ministry (MFA) Jan 06 dossier now at second Ministry (MOE) One more to go.....that's the regional one Still hoping for LOI (letter of invitation) in Jan Jan 31---dossier still at MOE, no LOI in Jan Feb 16--We know our region--Karaganda Kaz. Last step in the process--wait for LOI March 15 07--received LOI Left for Kaz March 21 Paperwork glitch but decided to stay while it was handled (hence the long time between leaving for trip and court) Court May22, 2007
