Hello all. Sorry I haven't written for awhile butbeen really, really busy. Our 6yo son, Alex, is getting his tonsils and adenoids out tomorrow. Though it is not serious surgery, for him, it can be. He is on some hefty duty anti-psychotic meds and some other things. It's always scary when you are dealing w/ brain altering meds and have to stop them for a bit. It can lead to stroke and seizures and such. I have a friend just recently that this happened to. I'm nervous. Know he'll be fine and great docs and they all know our concerns. Plus, his neuro told us info regarding the meds and anesthesiologist is aware. However, still, really hard as a mom not to worry. He is terrified as he HATES hospitals. Alex has FAS/ ADHD/ RAD/ PTSD/ Etc. He was are most traumatically affected child. Much abuse in his past. The hospitals have a horrible effect on him as when he was taken away when younger, he was sent to a Russian hospital. (hey, that will scare anyone--LOL). The signs of PTSD are already showing. I know tomorrow is going to just spark something. I'm ready but very nervous. Please just keep Alex inyour thoughts if you all don't mind. I'll post an update when I get home.
Now, we found out today our dog Bear is very hurt. He's 9yo and tore his achellles tendon. Yep, surgery for the dog and immediately! We can't seem to catch a break. Didn't expect all this at once if you know what I mean. The dog refuses to use the bathroom outside. So yes, he peed in the house. Urghh. So tomorrow, I will have to tend to Alex, Bear(cleaning up mostly) and trying to keep Nik(our LOUD Deaf son) out of the way. My husband will be w/ me tomorrow but not Friday. Please wish me luck as I have a feeling it's going to be a very long weekend. Won't even go into what else has happened at Chaos Manor lately. For now, please think of Alex tomorrow. I love him and amnervous though I know he'll be fine. Good evening everyone and thanks for listening. Take care,

Alex is out of the hospital!!!
Yeah! He's doing fine. Well, about as fine as you can after surgery. Trying to get him to eat is tough as he is scared to eat. Normal feeling. PTSD was pretty much under control at the hospital. The real trick will be the multiple med cocktails this afternoon along w/ his regular meds. wE can't skip another dose.
Just wanted to let you all know Alex is doing good. Doctor said tonsils looked fine (kind of knew that already) but the adenoids were rough. Bigger than thought and went and curved around into the nasal cavity. He said Alex should be able to breathe much better in about two weeks. That was the hopeful outcome. So relieved. Thanks again for the support on here. Can't chat long as I need to tend to Alex today. Take care,

Yeah, Alex! What a relief for the poor guy! It will all be worth it, but I know it's nice to have the weight off of your shoulders!

thanks everyone for the well wishes. Yesterday was the worst day for Alex. Right now he is zonked out on the couch again. Poor kid is worn out. Been a very rough surgery for him. Hoping tomorrow is better. I was really hopeful the first day but that quickly faded as it got much worse. At least he is peacefully sleeping right now. If I could only get some food down him. He's scared to swallow. Understandably so. Got to run. Just wanted to say thanks.
Take care,

The adenoids are bad, that's for sure. I'll probably be going through that with Hunter soon enough. I'm glad Alex is doing better. He'll have you running after him again in no time!!
