When I adopted my DD, she was 7+ y/o and I had just turned 42... Not married, career gal here, etc. It is a very big change in life, but the BEST I've have ever done!! Sure I am tired at 9PM, but still can't get into bed until the laundry, dishes, cleaning, bring home work, etc. is done, but I would NEVER TRADE MY LIFE NOW!!!

It is true... children keep you moving, young, and LAUGHING..... This is the BEST!!!

P.S. I am also coaching her Spring and Fall Soccer Teams, and her USTA Jr. Tennis Team! Life is GREAT!!!!

Sure are alot of us 'more mature' moms around here. I hit 50 in January. I have an 8 and a 5-year-old. Kids are supposed to make you feel young, but sometimes they just make me feel 50! Blessed, but 50.

mcanvasback - I don't worry about that at all - of course, I'm armed with Retin A and Botox and have a researched a long list of plastic surgeons so I know where to go when the time comes to fix up the eyes and droopy skin!!!!

I will be 49 next week

and have a 2 year old, on my own.

I do feel exhausted alot. I wanted so badly to adopt another but just don't think I can handle it from the physical side (and single mother stress side).

I worry about being the old mom, especially when thinking about the fact that when I am 80 she will only be 33. I feel like I will miss alot of her life and she will be without a parent at a fairly young age. Even though we do have a very close family and my sister and brother would be like a parent to her.

Also worry about staying sharp enough to figure out what teenagers are up to by then. ;-)
