as more adult adoptees of the BSE come forward and as we listen, really listen to their experiences...I think we as adoptive parents in these closed adoptions from Russia (oh so similiar to the BSE)

What's BSE?

Don't let the comment get you down Amy. I know that even our family and friends who adore our daughter sometimes can make some insensitive/politically incorrect comments about adoption or Russia.

Marjo~
Many (not all) first mother's whose kids (the adoptee) are now adults in their 30's, 40's...give or take...refer to the time when they 'relinquished' as the Baby Snatch Era or BSE. They feel they were never truly given a choice in the matter and they and their children have suffered due to the adoptions. The vast majority were closed adoptions and the loss of their babies was not a choice....they were simply told they HAD to hand over the baby.

It is heartbreaking to read both sides of those stories...the first mom's and the now adult adoptees.
