Waiting With Anna Karenina

In an attempt to help us pass the time, I wrote a post today suggesting we start an online book club on Anna Karenina.

We can use this thread to gather our thoughts on the book. The reading guide Oprah Winfrey's book club site can help guide your reading. But please, remember, no plot-spoiler comments, please.

I've read it before (a couple times - once I had too and much later to try and actually enjoy it without the pressures of the school assignment).

I'd be interested in joining in for a 3rd read. It's been a while since I read it!

Great idea!

Anna Karenina is by far one of my favorite books ever! I've read it over and over, but not for a few years now so it might just be time to read it again...

(oops, edit to remove spoiler-ish comment)

I'm curious how the reading is going? I had this book on my nightstand for months with no time to start it. Finally, I had a plane ride to start and couldn't stop! What a beautiful book!

Okay, I'll go look for it at Costco next time I'm there.

Is it as good as James Fraser in Outlander? I'm not into the Danielle Steele kind of thing...

AK is definitely not Danielle Steel kind of material. It's pretty dense. Great classic romance, but dense reading.

But I have to agree with mcanvasback...there is no one as good as Jamie Fraser..mmmmmm.

I put up a new Anna Karenina post today that lets us all be Hollywood directors. Put in your two cents about who should play Anna (and the rest of the crew) if a movie version were being shot now by clicking here.
