Can someone please pm me with a good reputable agency for adopting from this country? We were looking into Kaz but the travel stay is a bit of a problem since we have a one year old. I like that Uzbekistan has a shorter stay and I believe less expensive foreign fees. Any information is greatly appreciated.

Also, do most of the children adopted have the same look as children from Kaz? I just fell in love with their Asian appearance.

Check out FRUA - there are a few families there who I know adopted from Uzbekistan. Also, there is a Uzbek Yahoo group. I am not sure how active it is.

Since the population is largely Muslim, FAS may be less of an issue there.

The Uzbeks look slightly different from Kazakhs, we saw a wealthy Uzbek couple on the plane in Kaz and the woman was stunning.

In Kaz, you will see all sorts of chldren....I have seen blue eyes/blond hair to Asian to everything in between.

Our case manager is from Uzbekistan..I can ask her. I do remember her some time back saying they do very few adoptions from there (not our agency, but the country itself). She does not have any Asian features...She had the rounded face and darker skin, and very exotic eyes...a beautiful lady.

I will ask her if she knows any good agencies.
