Chita referral
Hi everyone! We are in the process of adopting a second child from Russia and just got a referral from Chita. Can anyone give me any info or experience from this region?

hello Mindy - I read the boards every day but rarely post as I am chasing 3 kids around the house! But, when I saw your post I had to reply. We adopted our daughters from Chita and have had a love affair with the region ever since. We made great friends with the coordinator and still keep in touch with her. 10/2003 - began paperwork 11/2003 - signed w/agency 4/2004 - recieved referral of twin girls 6/25-7/15/2004 - traveled to Chita, Siberia and brought home our little girls! PRAISE THE LORD! 7/06 - brought home our new son via domestic adoption...Our family is complete!

Adoption from Chita was great

My wife (Bratgirl) and I adopted two wonderful children from that region. They are both very healthy. The baby home there seems to treat the children well. If I remember correctly once you get to Moscow you will stay there 1-2 days then there is an overnight flight to Chita. I compare it to flying from Chicago to California. There is a yahoo group you can join to see some pictures of the region. At the time we adopted the 10 day wait got waived pretty regularly. As Dana said she keeps in contact with the coordinator and she could probably give you a better answer on that. Chita_Adopt : Chita_Adopt

I dont know anything about Chita, or where it is in Russia for that matter, but congratulations to you!

Mindy - one thing I can tell you is some real beauties have come out of chita. Kevin has two himself!!! But, here are mine - every morning they walk down the stairs I am just floored that they are ours!
