I just wanted to thank everyone for their help and for answering my many many questions as we went through our research phase.
We have decided to adopt domestically. Russia seemed like such a wonderful way to add to our family. All those precious little children that need a home, and we so very much want to add to our family. However, with the new 10 day extention for adoptions, a 3 trip would not be feasable for us due to the travel time. I do wish we could take this journey with you guys, but unfortunately, it isn't part of our plan. I do pray that all of you have a speedy and healthy placement. Again, thank you most kindly !Susan ![]()

Good luck to you! I know it is a really tough decision...Russia is so special to us since this is the homeland of our daughter, but this decision becomes so much more complicated with a kiddo at home.
Hope you process goes very smoothly!!

best of luck
`Best of luck to you Susan. I know, adopting a Russian orphan was a great thing, however, Russia is a tough road. If we were to adopt again, I don't think I could hack Russia again with the two(or three) trip system, increased dossier requirements and all of the accreditation mess.
I think for your family the domestic has a lot of merits since you will be able to travel domestically with your daughter and probably for a short period of time. I wish you all the best, please drop in and visit and let us know how your process goes. Amy K, NJ

Hello Susan... yes, it is a difficult decision, but YOU need to make the right one for your family! I don't know if I would be able to go through another adoption in Russia, as everything has become very long and complicated. In 2004/2005, the laws where just beginning to change, and I basically got grandfather'ed in on alot of the requirements.... I have had several friends and acquaintances go through the process over the past 18 months, and it is not easy for sure.
Blessings to you and your family, and I hope your road is a smooth and quick one! ![]()
