Boy, was I glad to see this update! You've been in my thoughts and prayers. I know how hard it is to turn down a referral, but sometimes that has to happen for you to find the child that was meant to be part of your family, AND for that first referral to find the family that can give him/her the support and care he/she really deserves. The path can be filled with turns and twists, but have faith -- you WILL find your way -- and your child.

WOO HOO! I just sent you a pm! I wonder if you are at Rent? This time last year they were just opening their new restaurant! Give everyone a big hug for us there, I swear that hospital is great...poor, but they really care about the kids. If you are with Lena (the younger one,) ask her if she remembers the Skull System for the drive from Vlad to Nak and the song, "Sergy Got Pulled Over In Primorsky Krai" that we made up on the long drive back and forth!!

Such great news after everything else! You made the right decision as a single mother, for both of you! I would have done the same thing! I went in with a blind referral, too! I CANNOT wait to see pictures and hear you are safe and sound at home!!

That is wonderful news! Guess what...everyone I met at the Vlad Inn that had children from were able to keep their children in the hotel with them during the 10 days wait because of the long distance. I am hoping you a very speedy return to get your little leprechaun!

As you can tell from my name's subtitle, I am very familiar with Nahodka. My little girl also came from the same baby hospital.
Dr. A & Dr. L as well as the workers really do seem care about the children. The ride between Vladivostok & Nahodka really isn't that bad until the 3rd or 4th trip, when it isn't as exciting any more (or when you travel from Nahodka to Vladivostok then back & forth a 2nd time on the same day!). As far as "hearing" about Nahodka, it is actually quite full of history even though it is only about 50 years old! I wish you a quick return trip to bring another Nahodka child home.
