Going to Kaz
With great excitement, I am officially not a "waiter" any more! I got my LOI [letter of invitation] inviting me to Kaz two days ago. I hesitated to post because I don't have all the travel arrangements worked out, but I am hoping to leave on March 2. YAY!!!
My daughter [age 15] is beside herself with excitement about getting a little brother. She is also anxious about me flying all that way [about 16 hours]. I actually had someone here in the office ask me yesterday if my daughter and son were from the same place. No, I explained, Khabarovsk [Russia] and Kazakhstan are totally different countries! LOL I told my mother about it later and she said "Well they both start with the "ka" sound. LOL I'm just ready to pack up my bag and GO! And no, my future son has no idea I'm coming. I keep getting that question, too. Dee

Fantastic news. I'll update in a few days so when you know the exact dates let me know, if I don't hear from you I'll put March 2nd. How long will you be gone as this is a one trip albeit long trip isn't it??

Trip Time
A lot of people do Kaz adoptions in one long trip, of 6-8 weeks. I cannot take that much time from work, so I'm doing two trips. First trip will be approximately 3 weeks, then after the court hearing it takes several weeks to finalize everything, then I go back for about a week.
My boy is older [10] so I can explain to him about leaving and coming back. I probably would stay the whole time if he were a baby. Dee

Nope, I don't think so. There's som computer glitch in Kazakhstan that's holding up everyone's visas. It is SO frustrating! I just keep praying for us all...

Traveling on trip 2
Just to check in. My wife and i went to court on Feb 26 and 27. Everything went well and we are proud parents to a little boy. DH is waiting out ten days in Moscow. We got an apartment through Andrei. It is perfect. Right in Arbat.

Travelling Soon!
I got a call from the Kazakhstan embassy and I am getting my visa tomorrow! YAY!!!! I will leave March 10 and be gone about 3 weeks. I am SO excited!
I'm reviewing my Russian with my tutor/daughter! Dee
