I'm sure this has been discussed a million times, but I would like current input on which life book you liked the best...

We're adopting from Stavropol, a boy w/SN, 5 yrs old (nearly 6)

Keeping that in mind, do you have any life books you'd recommend?

I'm using "I am Chosen" for both my kiddos - they were 6 and 7 and it fits most everything I need!

I did a standard scrapbook for both my children that shows referral, trip one and two and our first year as a family highlights. It ends at our first anniversary.

I have a photo album of all the pics from the two trips - this just shows highlights.

The nice thing about this is I could do whatever I wanted in it and I wasnt tied to any format.

I have This Is Me and I don't like it. It is just sort of cheap...thin newpaper looking paper, no colors, just black and white, no real pictures and a lot of things that did not relate to IA even though it was "supposed" to be geared toward the country you choose.
Others have said the same thing..I would go with another choice...I am going to buy another one-probably the one above, I am Chosen, a lot of people seem to like it.

I hope youre well. Between trip one and trip two I made a custom scrapbook for my baby. I took a class at Michael's and got really into it. I recently saw a friend's scrapbook of the baby she adopted from China. It was simply beautiful.

Having said that, now that the baby is home, my time is at a minimum. Also, scrapbooking is quite an expensive hobby.

I dont know the names of any of the published lifebooks, but you have to do what's best for you.

I haven't done it yet, but I was thinking something like an album done using Shutterfly would be perfect. You are not stuck to a format and the end product is very, very, professional -- looks like an actual book. Can add whatever messages you want.

I also bought I am Chosen. I like it because you can add to it easily.

We have been waiting way too long for this to happen, so I tried to put some energy into things like the lifebook.... I liked the layout of the 3 ring binder memory books out there for bio infants (lots of color and good drawings/cartoons on it), but the content of the I Am Chosen was definitely most appropriate........well, I sort of merged the two and reprinted the updated versions (yeah, DH was pretty astounded that I was that patient to do all the changes that were needed!!, thanks for photoshop!! ).

In other words, the content of I am Chosen is probably what you are looking for, it was just too basic (layout) for my taste (and need for distractions at a time where I thought we were never going to get good news)!!. Since I had so much time to kill, it was put to good use!!!
