I was touched so deeply tonight I just COULD NOT WAIT to get home and share it with all of you...as you more than anyone would understand.

A quick history...my sister's daughter Bailey is like my little girl too...when she was only 1 1/2yrs old I moved to her town, had a seizure, lost my driver's license for 6 months, and had to move in with my sis and her family. Therefore, Bailey and I became very close (she is my Goddaughter too!)

Ok, so tonight I was at her Christmas pagent. It was in our big catherdral with candles and beautiful music playing. The choir, the angels, the sheppards, Mary, Joseph all filtered in with candles. As they walked down the center aisle, I caught a glimpse of blue through the crowd....

then I saw her. My sweet angel, my precious Bailey was wearing her beautiful blue Russian dress that we brought her from Russia. I was in awe...I sobbed and sobbed. It was the most beautiful Christmas gift I could have received. A nine year old, already into what is "fashionable" and what is "cool", was proud enough of my dear Hannah and her Russian heritage that she wore the dress in honor of her.

This is one moment I will never forget...a feeling I will cherish in my heart forever.

I know my family thought I would be happy, but I don't think they had any idea how deeply it would touch me.....but I know all of you would understand, and that is why I wanted to share it with you!

Thanks for all the comments...I tear up while reading each of them and then seeing that "flash of blue"......the only other time I was that taken aback (in a good way!) was when my dh proposed...I think it was b/c it was just sooo.....well, no words that can explain...but you guys understand! IT WAS A GIFT FROM GOD (through my sweet little neice!)

Amy ~ Wow, that is so sweet!! You have a very special niece!! (My cousin's girl wore my first communion dress for hers a few years ago and was so happy to walk around telling everybody it was her big cousin's dress. I thought the same thing, that she wouldn't think it was cool...but she did!! I cried as she walked up to receive....you're right, kids just surprise you!)

Cyndi....I bet that was a beautiful sight! Bailey also wore my wedding veil to her first Holy Communion...she was beautiful and I was deeply touched...but OH her in that Russian dress....>!!! I thiink besides being so touched I was reminded of the pagent last year...we had spent 14 months in our adoption and our agency was looking at moving us to a new region b/c of the delays in ours...the end was nowhere in sight...and now I had my baby in my arms and Bailey in that dress....proof that it was not a DREAM!!!!
