Heart Year 2 PPR.... MAILED!!!!

I just LOVE mailing my PPRs!!! Not for just the obvious reason... BUT to SHOW them what some LOVE, Compassion, great Medical care, Understanding, Patience, etc. can do for a CHILD!!! I may sound HARSH to some, but my DD suffered for the First 8.3 years of her life. Her mother died when she was 5 months old, she continued to live with her father until the Federation removed DD from his house at the age of 3.3 years old. At this age, she could not walk, talk and had muscle atrophy in all 4 limbs. She was also severly malnourished, etc. She was put into a baby assylum for 6 months, and then to a baby house in her village. When she was 7 years, she was moved to the Older Childrens Orphanage, where she was picked on for her size, and delays. When I did my official visits, I was able to observe her first grade class.... Her teacher was extremely HARSH with all of the kids. On day 3, the Teacher asked me (through the translator) Why I would want such a child? She is STUPID, and would NEVER BE ANYTHING!!!! Now, this was INFRONT of DD, who was fluent in Russian.....

So, I get GREAT JOY sending my PPRs.... The only problem I have, is that I am only suppose to send pictures that fit on ONE page.... It's amazing... I was able to fit 9 pictures this report.... It is important for me to show them how DD has Blossomed, Thrived, and all that she has achieved in the last 24 months!!!

Boy does it feel good

Blessings...................

I am so thrilled to hear about this. Congrats on two years. The most difficult journeys are often the best journeys of the heart. Hugs to you and your girl! What a wonderful post!

Cool, SingleMama --

They say living well is the best revenge! I also LOVED sending in the post-placements! DD was 2 years 3 months and weighed only 17 pounds. Severely malnourished, sick with diarrhea and extreme anemia (from worms) -- in the first 3 months, she gained over 8 pounds and grew 1 1/2 inches. The trajectory has been similar since. She's now 11, weighs close to 100, and is just short of my height (5' 4").

The doctor at her hospital could not WAIT to be rid of her (got drunk celebrating before we could even leave with her) --

As for the "stupid" thing, we had a cruddy pre-K teacher who wrote a one-liner on her report: "K___
is a disruption to the class and a distraction to the other children." Today, in a demanding middle school, she made 5 A's and 1 B (in language arts -- she cannot spell her way out of a paper bag) -- and the teachers regularly give her "A+" in conduct, as she is the best-behaved child in the class.

Soooooo... you, and SHE, GO, GIRLS! Be proud -- be brave -- be strong -- you deserve every kudo. You certainly have mine!

Too bad you can't make sure a copy of the report goes directly to the teacher
