wow
Thanks so much for posting this link. This made me want to cry. What a brave and generous young man, to try and help the kids still suffering there.

My heart just breaks for all those children in Romanian orphanages with no chance for a decent life. I hope one day the country opens its doors to adoption again. Maybe stories like this one will help. It felt good to know that this young man's life was saved and that he is thriving and doing well and giving help to others that remain.

What a heartbreaking, touching story. I too hope someday int'l adoptions will be allowed once again in Romania. While it's a wonderful goal to have conditions improve to the point where there is no need for int'l adoption, in the meantime there are waiting children in desperate situations in this country. The need is simply incredible.

I agree. Words fail. The boy's experience pales in comparison with my own DD's, and hers was rather dreadful.
Thank you for sharing this. We can only pray that the powers that be, and this young man, will persuade Romania that we adoptive parents are hardly the "white-slavers" and "sex-traders" we apparently are thought to be in some quarters. |

Wow... Karen, thanks for sharing this with us. It shows how important AP's can be. Let's just pray that they can get this situation in Romania turned around and allow these children to have homes.

Beverly Peberdy's Book "Do Robins Cough?"
Beverly Peberdy, Pat's mother has written a book about her Romanian ministry and adoption experience.
called "Do Robins Cough?" I have read it and it is nothing short of miraculous. In September of 97 it was a Reader's Digest feature story (the Lost Children of Bacau). The pictures are mind-boggling. I have a copy in case anyone is interested. |
