I am overwhlemed by all the choices for a lifebook or scrapbook for my daughter. What has anyone used and liked? With four kids and homeshooling, I really need something that is rather pre-plannned. I am not too interested in getting a book that tells me how to make my own. But the first one I bought wasn't exactly whaty I was looking for. I would like something that is mostly pictures and just some writing. (The other was more of a baby book with room for a few pictures.) I have sooooo many pictures.....

We have "I am Chosen" for both kiddos, I like it because it is preplanned yet you can purchase blank pages for your own stuff.

We bought "This is Me"...the selling point was supposed to be that it is "asking questions" as a child would..but really I don't like it all that much. It is soo...boring....nothing decorative, no colors, no pictures (except for the first page on Russia). I don't know what I was expecting, but it just seems there are things I want to say and they don't fit. It has a lot of pages but many won't work b/c they are about foster info, birth family history (we have none) etc. There is a page for every birthday up to 18, but I don't think I would do that every year (not that I would want to...but ya know..). I don't know,it just not really fit what I was looking for. The cover was nice, while and silver or gold like a baby book, but inside the pages were just plain old paper with a question and lines. I did get more pages, but they are just blank pieces of lined papaer. They do have some places to put pictures in the back.

I may look for another one that fits my tastes better..but maybe this style is for you!

We also have "I am chosen" for both kids. It asks questions that I actually had answers to - and it was good for our age kids (but would work for younger as it has pages for teeth and milestones)...
I really like it!!!

We have DreamKidzs Russia, it really leads/prompts you and has alot of filler things (specific to Russia) that you can add to or just leave the way they are. Its beautifully put together and all of the pages have page protector inserts. They supplied many pages for pictures and adding your own personal memory things. You can also order just the insides (the guts of the book) or you can add the cover as well, back when we ordered it (2 years ago) the cover could be personalized for your child. People usually cannot believe that I did this myself (thats how nice it is) because they know I am not the crafty type so they are very surprised .

I completely agree. I was so disappointed in this book! I returned it and an looking for something better. I'm off to check out the other books mentioned here.

WE just came back from Russia with our first child. Because I had no children at home beforehand(and a lot of time on my hands) I took a scrapbooking class at Michael's craft store. I made my own scrapbook for the baby which she can always have. IF you have the time(even an hour a day) I'd recommend you make a scrapbook. It's so nice to have something original and creative. If you dont have the time, perhaps you can hire someone in your area to create one for you. In the future I wouldnt mind getting into the scrapbooking business, so I bet there are others out there in your area who will make one for you for a fee.
