Congrats. We have been home 5 months from Kirov. Loved it. I won't say I sleep like a baby on the train though. I stayed up most the night watching movies on our dvd player. I was so excited about seeing our baby girl for the first time. We had travel dates with our referrel and only 15 days in between our two trips. Good luck.

Yeah!!! Congratulations!!! I have a good friend that adopted her first child from there! It was a one trip process then. I don't have any advice, just so excited for you!

Congrats! Hope you get official travel dates soon.
We worked with an IA doc here, as Amy did. Planned ahead of time the dates we'd be emailing info and pics. She emailed back and called the same day with her assessment and questions to ask. Very helpful. Just think, soon you could have a little boy playing in that incredible play room you painted!

Congratulations to you!!! I dont know about traveling doctors because we got a referral in advance. From my understanding some regions will allow traveling doctors and some won't. I was informed by my agency that the children were generally healthy in the region where our baby was adopted from so traveling doctors were not allowed. Only domestic IA doctors' opinions.

Congratulations!!!! We did Russia in December as well - saved on airfare and hotel at least. We did not consult an IA here but did use a doctor from the Euromed clinic in St. Petersburg (where we adopted) - there really wasn't much on her medicals - and seeing her in person made me feel a lot better. but we did have an IA docs info here just in case we felt we needed to send the info over...As long as you have one you should be ok - just be sure to take some digital video you can send back here - sometimes it's hard to tell things in pictures (per the ia doctor).
