Has anyone been told that they have to have the 8 Doctor Medical done in Russia and then you have to have a medical elvaluation done in the US as well? We had the 8 Doctor medical done two weeks ago in region and I was just called by our agency and told that when I mailed in the medicals to make sure I had a copy of the doctor's license attached. I told the agency that we had the 8 doctor med done in region--I thought this was inlue of the medicals done here--and she said both were needed for court. Has anyone else been told this? We have court in 13 days.
Just curious--We had all our labs done here prior to traveling. Can anyone shine some light on this?

glstls, Yes we have to do both as well. We also did our labs here and will do our 8 doctor medical exam in Russia. We have to keep a US medical exam current, it's the same form that we had to do for the dossier, it needs to be less than 3 months old on the court date. I don't know why, but at this point we just comply with what they want.

Do you happen to know if the 8 Doctor medicals are for specific regions or for all of Russia? We are going to Moscow. We asked our agency and were told we didn't need the 8 Doctor Medicals but know I am beginning to wonder if that's true? Thanks. RB

RB: They still may be region specific, but I think it would be hard pressed to find many regions that don't require it now. I too have a hard time believing that Moscow would not be requiring it, it's my understanding that they follow "all the rules" in Moscow.

Someone that has been through the process in Moscow, can you help with this question?

In the Tver region I had to have both US and in region medicals done. Fortunately it's extremely inexpensive in Tver--I think it cost less than $30--and my US medicals were covered by my insurance.
