Hi Doreen and welcome! Glad to have you aboard.
Congratulations on your upcoming first trip. I wish you the best of luck. Traveling to Russia is a great adventure. Enjoy every minute. We loved both our trips, except for the jet lag and the reason we brought the cipro along! Hopefully your agency has you traveling with other adoptive parents as we did. It was great sharing the experience with others. We got the email addresses of those families beforehand and began emailing and getting to know each other. You could try the same, altho you don't have much time, do you? Well, have a wonderful trip and please keep us posted as to how it all went when you return.

Welcome and congrats on your upcoming travel dates. So much great advice already...just a couple of my thoughts...
~Just relax and enjoy the trip...the sights...the sounds of your future child's birth country. Enjoy the food, enjoy the shopping, enjoy the culture. ~Take way too many pictures....way too much video....buy tons of souveniers. Journel everything. Buy postcards, books, trinkets from the region. (Vodka too.) ~Have no expectations when you meet your child...you may fall madly in love, you may think what the heck am I getting into, you may be shocked at what you find out from the MOE, you may feel sorry for your little one. There is absolutely no 'right' way to feel or react. ~Just enjoy and ask us any questions...anything. All the best...

Hi Doreen,
You have gotten some great advice and I just basically wanted to say welcome!! My biggest piece of advice is to go with the flow, let you guides lead you where you need to go and enjoy every second with your little guy. You are going to feel so overwhelmed by all the information they give you but just take notes (both mentally and on paper) and remember the deciding factor is how your feel personally about him. All 3 of my kids had scary things on their information/medical sheets, but besides my middle daughters crossed eye, it was all pretty bogus. We still laugh about all of the diagnosis' they all 3 had. They were and still are just 3 wonderful, everyday, beautiful little kids!!! Again welcome, although I don't post alot, these people on this forum are wonderful and the best support system around!!
