2nd time around, and I'm still confused! Homestudy timing question

How long is a Homestudy update good for? The HS is used to meet State, Federal and Russia's rules, right? I'm thinking that as far as Russia goes, how long it's good for may depend on region.? Anyone happen to know for New York State? I guess the other question is, how many updates can you have before you need to just do a whole new HS?
Thank you for reading, and if you have any information I'd so appreciate!!

Depends upon the state as far as how long homestudies are good for. In our state, they are good for 18 months. HOwever, when we went to get Bojan, we had to do a homestudy update--much cheaper too. Depends alot on agency as far as how many updates you can do. Typically, just one update to a homestudy. Good luck!

I believe in New York state the homestudy has to be under 2 years old to be updated ,but then you can update an update . It is very confusing ,contact your SW she will know best .For Russia it is a year ,then you need an update .

Stephanie and AMD, thank you so much for your replies! As usual, the folks on this board are incredibly giving and supportive. New Home Study is necessary..our original was updated over a year ago for 1st adoption...we're told no more than one update for Russia.
