Mike, I'm so glad to hear of this encouraging step in finding the right help for your beloved Julia. What a difference the right kind of therapy and the right therapist can make, eh? Just a reminder to keep looking and pushing till you find what works best for your family.
Please continue to share what you can regarding your family's progress (as you feel comfortable), and please know that your family is continuously in the thoughts and prayers of so many of us. God bless and keep the faith! You can do it, and the beautiful Julia CAN continue to heal and get better. Take care of yourselves and each other. I am so very encouraged for you all. Best wishes.

Thanks for posting this, Mike. Jim and I have posted on another forum about our PTSD struggles with Nastia, and we're well aware that the PTSD is impeding her attachment. The relationship between trauma and attachment difficulties is really complicated but important for us all to understand.
I hope Julia's healing will move forward now that you have a therapist who understands the problems.

Thanks Mike. Another thing for all of you to remember, is most likely when you get a severe diagnosis, it will be in combination w/ something else. It's part of a bigger picture so to speak. Most FASers have ADHD. ADHD is a part of the FAS. Just like our RADish also has PTSD. The PTSD contributed to the RAD effect. And as Mike said, it is important to have a very accurate dx in order to treat. IT took us years to figure out Max was not just ADHD. That it was actually part of the bigger picture of FAS. Thanks Mike for letting others know to find a proper dx first and foremost so that whatever it is, the healing can begin.
Take care,

Mike, I know that every day is a new struggle for you, your family, and for Julia. -Think about how lucky she is to have you! She would never have had any intervention of this level if left in her prior circumstances. Now she has every possibility to become the star that she really is...You can see it in her eyes...People can and do heal from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Julia may never be the "easy" child, but when Julia starts to heal, the world of LOVE will be hers. It's easy sometimes to focus on the negative, but you should feel so proud for what you have given, are giving, and will continue to give... You may not know this, but you inspire others. God bless!
