It's our first Family Day!
I can hardly believe that our family is preparing to celebrate our first Family Day! Officially it is tomorrow, August 3, but since it's already August 3 in Russia...
This last year has been filled with so much joy and love for our little girl. She is beautiful, smart and has quite a sense of humor. We've had plenty of challenges as well on the attachment front, and will probably be dealing with those for the next several months. But, things are going very, very well. She carries a cherished blanket all over the house with her, and in the last month her much loved baby doll, whom we have named with DD's birth name goes just about everywhere with her and the blanket, even to the potty! They all three sleep together, eat together, play together, and many times mommy is invited to join them. She is a gift and we are very, very fortunate and blessed to be her parents. I've attached some pictures to show how she has changed since we took custody of her. The first picture was taken just after we took her out of the orphanage forever. The picture with the pink dress was taken this evening. The others were taken recently. She has grown 7 inches and gained 8 pounds. She has grown from a size 6-9 months to 24 months and up to 4T in dresses (she is tall!), and from a size three to size seven shoe. Her growth leveled off this summer, but I'm sure another growth spurt is just around the corner. Her second birthday is in a few weeks, and we are having so much fun planning for the party. Congratulations!!! She is absolutely beautiful!! Those are such great pictures!!! 2nd birthdays are a lot of fun! I love the idea of naming the baby her birthname - I may borrow that from you!!!
