For those considering circumcision...
...it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be on poor Jax. The worst part was coming out of the general anesthetic. It's a little scary! He was so pale and his heart rate was all over the place. They kept moving him around and had me hold him in different positions. That part was the worst for me - I felt so helpless. 3 hours later, he was finally awake and alert.
His little "part" is doing fine - it actually looks better than my nephew's did after his circ. was done, immediately after birth! There are resorbable stitches "around the collar" and a little oozing there, too, but other than that, he's doing fairly well. They gave him a spinal block for pain, while under anesthesia, and when he finally came to, he didn't seem to be in any pain at all. He threw up in the car on the way home (just apple juice, thank God) but we had traffic and it took 2 hours to get home. Once home, he was fine....ate a big dinner, took his meds, slept all night and seems o.k. today, maybe a little cranky. They didn't wind up doing a biopsy - his urologist just wants to wait and see how things do after the circ. and we'll go from there. Hopefully, the lesion will go away with time, now that it's in a "new environment", not so tucked-away, so to speak. Thanks again for the prayers. I was a nervous wreck, yesterday... I have a wine-headache today - I needed it last night for medicinal purposes!!!! You all are the best, as usual! Don't know where I'd be without you! I feel so sorry for anyone who goes thru IA without this forum. Yes, it's a wealth of info, but the support here is astounding!!!!! God bless, Shawn
