My Hannah called me MAMA!
Hannah has a little stomach bug, so she has been wanting me more than usual. Yesterday we just stayed home, and I loved on her all day (and today too). A few times I "thought" I heard Ma-Ma, but it was usually during a cry, so I thought it was a fluke. Well, yesterday, I heard the most beautiful words.MA MA, MA MA! It melted my heart!
 Well, after only 24 hrs of saying MA MA, I think Hannah has realized that when she says it, I will drop anything I am doing, clap and hug her....so we have begun the "toddler games" already!  Anyway, just wanted to share! Again, you waiters...these are things you should think of when you are down....many of you knew I thought we would NEVER get a child home...and now I have the sweetest little girl calling me MA MA! Hang in there!!!

Lost referral in-country got a new one! 4/11/06 Signed for a 9 1/2 month old girl!! 5/16/06 Leaving on Trip 2 COURT DATES May 23 and 25th! 5/26/06 GOTCHA!! our prayers have been answered!! We welcome our sweet angel Hannah to our family! 6/2/06 Home forever!

Two boys (5 and 7) Feb 05 to Aug 06 unsuccessful in Russia August 06, changing countries (paperchasing) Oct 06 dossier sent to agency Nov 06 dossier made it through the Embassy, now it's on its way to Kaz!! Dec 06 dossier at the first Ministry (MFA) Jan 06 dossier now at second Ministry (MOE) One more to go.....that's the regional one Still hoping for LOI (letter of invitation) in Jan Jan 31---dossier still at MOE, no LOI in Jan Feb 16--We know our region--Karaganda Kaz. Last step in the process--wait for LOI March 15 07--received LOI Left for Kaz March 21 Paperwork glitch but decided to stay while it was handled (hence the long time between leaving for trip and court) Court May22, 2007

Oh AmySue.... that IS the SWEETEST word you will ever hear!!!! I know how I felt when DD called me that for the first time.... I literally started to cry!!
Congrats, and I hope that Hannah gets rid of that bug real soon!!!! Blessings................

Congrats, Amy! I know that is a wonderful feeling. Lilia (age 2) has started to call me Mama too.
It is SO fun to hear!!Regina (age 4) has been calling me Mom or Mommy for about 6 weeks but unfortunately she also calls people like my hairdresser "mom" or a random stranger in the McDonald's playland "daddy". I definitely think she knows I am her main caregiver but she doesn't understand the exclusive use of the term. So I've been teaching her she has ONE mommy and ONE daddy and showing pictures of others or me and saying "Is that your mommy?" Seems to be working. The language barrier is so tough on stuff like this. Ok--sorry I got off on my own tangent. Enjoy your talking daughter!

I was so excited to tell my dh, and he shared with me that he has been practicing it with her during bathtime and other daddy/baby times! He is soo sweet!
I forgot to mention, last night she was signing "more" then saying ma ma and "more" ma ma, while Daddy gave her her bath! haha wonder if he regrets his praticing now! No....

Isnt that just the greatest??!! I remember when Nate said mama for the 1st time. He was home just under 1 month and it was on mine and hubbys 8 year anniversary so I'll for sure never forget it!
